Only because its easier for builders,
Making it easier for builders just gives them that little more incentive to stay. :)

Thank you for your sharing of information and I am sure that Jamie appreciates your helping solve these problems easily!
Is there any reasonable working way to have /ignore persist kuke?-

Can't you just do /rn [nickname] and their IGN will show up? This just ruins the nickname aspect for staff members.

All I know is that a few months back, /rn didn't work on anyone who had bold/italic/colored first letters (couldn't tell which, since most people who use nicknames do at least two of those). So unless something was just fundamentally broken at the time, even /rn isn't reliable. And as a not-new user, this really pissed me off because I couldn't actually message the couple of Staff members who had been online.
And Global chat is rarely reliable since Staff are busy and don't usually see it unless things are blowing up.
Tab isn't reliable either. I can't remember a time where it was ever reliable beyond 30+ users online...
I see absolutely no issue with nicknames as long as they work on /rn (also means that there are a bunch of people showing up on it) and the first part (or whole) nickname can be usable with /pm. But I also see nicknames more for event-purposes and coloring. If you want to be called something else, get a tag or change your username. Your username is safe when you change it and you can always go back.-

Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeYes, but some builders wouldn't know where to find that command.

Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeThe tutorial is too long already. We should be reducing the tutorial, not adding to it.

Vintage_Gamer BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Premium UpgradeYes, in a brief few minutes. Reading signs and signs of text is boring, I doubt people want to read any more than what is already up there.

UnitedStates2 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Gameplay Architect Premium UpgradeYou're not getting the point. The tutorial is supposed to be about the very basics of gameplay on the server and how to get started. We shouldn't need to talk about a command that has very little influence on the gameplay.

Or just make it a rule that you should keep your nickname as a staff member so people dont get confused.
You still can colour, bold underline your name.
Just as easy as your solution, well easier actually. -
Everyone who keeps on stating that new players who have joined should have basic knowledge of mc, maybe true and may not be. Stop saying that, look through the eyes of a new player.

Oreo is cookie that wishes to be a fish sometimes :p
Also, unless something has changed, /rn still does not work if the player is in /v. I have not tested this in a while so it may have been fixed by now. -
UnitedStates2 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Gameplay Architect Premium UpgradeIt isn't something meant to be "fixed" - You shouldn't be able to do /rn on users who are vanished as it will show whether they're online or not.

Staff members themselves should understand the need to do whats in the best interest of the players, now i may not be one to talk but any staff member who believes a nick is more important should reconsider how important their position as staff is, worst cause scenario the rule can always be redacted. And it's not like nickname is being lost you still get to be creative just with the name you choose yourself (Plus if you feel the need to choose a nick why not just change your name).
