I have maybe 20 blocks left I used them in minewars locker and sold them, I will not make any real profit out of this suggestion if it was implemented.

 

That is like suggesting all price changes should never happen. The raising and lowering of farming prices has the same affect, many people on the server mine to make money. If it is positive why not add it, it may not make a massive difference but if it is only going to have positive effect, why not.

 

I am sorry but mining is a way of making money which doesn't make it any less important than farming. If mining prices were raised people would mine as much as they farm. Many people on the server farm and mine. Mining is definitely important it is no where near the same as rising dirt as dirt is pretty useless and collecting dirt is not a way of earning money, collecting gold along with other ores is.
The positive affect is not only showed by all the agreements on this thread but read the actually post I made it shows mining needs an increase and gold is the mining material making the least money. You seem to judge prices on current event, all prices should be judged on money per hour, not what is currently happening on a server. It would be too hard to keep up and prices are supposed to be reasonable stable and not fluctuate.

 

I disagree greatly with the second statement.
Kuke you the master of prices will know mining make no where near as much as multiple different types of farming. Mining is easy to do you only need one tool you ask and to find some land. Not that easy.

Cons of Mining

• Dangerous easy to die in lava, or falling into a ravine.
• Requires concentration or the above becomes more lightly.
• Need to find unexplored cave or look at making only 8k an hour (personal experience) straight line mining.
• Makes less money, even the max per hour is probably less than pumpkin farming, and the average per hour definitely is.
• Needs fly to maximize profit, kinda. You can make a good 1k extra per hour if you use fly(only applies if cave mining, which is the type of mining that earns the most)

Cons of Farming

• Requires farm
• Some can find very boring
• Needs fly to maximize profit
• Requires decent computer, at least you use a large profitable farm.

This shows mining is not 'easy' and so should be competitive with farming. Regarding your original comment, how much difference does super breaker really make, especially as the most profitable way to mine is in cave systems and super breaker doesn't really help at all when exploring caves.
Gold may not be the correct mining resource to increase, I believe it is, but mining definitely needs a rise to become a competitive way of making money. I am sure you have heard many call ECC 'Farmville' as the economy seems to be based mostly around farming and doesn't allowing mining much of a chance as a way of making large money.

Rarity is not judged by physical amount but how much you can collect in an hour, dirt or cobble would be pretty much the same, possibly you could probably collect more dirt.
I am also suggesting Gold Ingots should get an increase because mining is a way of making money, collecting dirt is not. Mining should not be treated any different to farming just because money per hour mining is not reliable an average can still be worked out. That average would be way less than ways of farming, so mining should merit a rise and gold ingots make the least money mining so why not gold.

Mining is never more profitable than pumpkin farming even if you get really lucky most I have ever made per hour mining, in about 100 hours of mining overall, is 14k, which is at least 2k less than pumpkin farming and sometimes I can only get as much as 8k.​

 

You point is farming = ECC why? Nothing in the server info suggests this is a farming server. The people on the server have made it into a farming server. As you said farming is boring so mining should be risen as an alternative way of making money for the people who hate farming so they can still enjoy the server and make money.

 

There is a point to make mining more competitive as a way of money, and if adding it is positive why not? Just because it wont make a massive difference to the server if all effect it have are going to be positive as you are suggesting why no implement it.
'ECC is a farming server' I am sure if you asked andrewkm he would disagree greatly. You are someone who believes because atm farming makes most money then this server has always been like that, at some point mining was most profitable, prices change, and need to be change. That is what this suggestion if for.
