Item: Gold ingots. Data Value: 266 Current Price: $10 Suggested Price: $12-$15 Brief Description: You obtain gold ingots by mining gold ore and then smelting it either in a furnace or cooking pot. Open Discussion: I am a regular miner, and after many weeks of mining I noticed a pattern the item I always get the least of was gold ore. I was intrigued and investigated by cost which material I earned the least money off - out of iron, gold, lapis, redstone, and diamond - I discovered it was gold. I then proceeded to check the minecraft wiki and noticed gold ore has a much smaller amount per chunk then iron ore. According to the minecraft wiki, although ECC may have a slightly modified generation, there is 77 iron ore per chunk but only 7.5 gold ore per chunk. This seemed strange as gold only $2.50 more than iron, yet 10 times as rare. Gold is also probably consumed more in creations of fireworks, Golden Apples and Golden Carrots, than iron is used for tools. Any opinions about this would be much appreciated. I also feel miners deserve a slight increase in money made per hour as farming can make at least 5k more per an hour and probably requires less concentration.
+1 One of the most rare ores is only worth 10$ a block, while 1 lapis ore block gives you $16 and 1 diamond can go for $30-$50 among users.
I am not sure about that, if anything iron should have a slight decrease as it is very common at all levels.
I agree. Considering that we are playing Minecraft and not Farmcraft, I would say that mining should bring in a bit more than it does now. Sure you can say all you need for mining is a pick, and for farming you need a farm and sometimes special tools, but you have to keep searching for more ore when mining. Also, the risk involved in mining is a lot greater than that of farming. +1
I am truly disappointed that this was not implemented when andrewkm did quite a few price changes today. I see no negative effects if gold ingots were to get a slight increase, farming would still make more than mining and gold ingots don't even have much effect on the income of mining because of there rarity.
Gold ingots are already at $12. That's what I buy them for in my spawn shop. Why would you sell them to the server?
