Why can the server not provide a private channel with an application to join? Please tell me why it can't.

 

Because it is clearly stated that any discussion about what you wish to "chat" about is highly prohibited.

Why do you need to carry on this thread when the answer is clearly no.

The server does provide a private channel with an application to join.

Even town chat channels are subject to the ECC rules.

It's like you are complaining because the wedding reception DJ wont play Deathmetal, which was specifically banned by the bride and groom. Not even a "but we'll play it softly!" will get an agreement.

Pull out your ipod (ie: go to a different media / website to discuss the subjects)

 

I guess I don't care too much, but just make the chat with a password or a party and it won't bother me and anyone else but...

If you are really having to resort to Minecraft to dicuss politics....I don't even know. There are plenty of other websites/blogs to visit and discuss.

The first amendment protects you from not getting arrested and tried for what you say. I don't see anywhere in the Constitution where it says that you can't get banned from a minecraft server.

Also the fact that this suggestion has turned into a flame war is enough to rule against everything you've just said. If you want to "debate" then why don't you just take your stupid, redneck, "Obama is the Antichrist" bs to another server, because we're sick of it.

It applies to Congress. The first amendment was intended to be a limitation on Government. It does not give you a right of action against another private entity (Ie. a minecraft server). Not to mention the fact that the governing laws of ECC are the laws of Ontario. (See. General Disclaimer).


Now get off your high horse and appreciate that you can use party chat (which is free!). What frustrates me even more is that you know that you can use parties for free, yet you continue to argue about having to pay.

I know that the first amendment doesn't protect me on a minecraft server. But, I should still be able to talk about politics, like you just did in technicallity. As well, I'm still waiting on when I called Obama the "antichrist".

Just ignore every single reasonable fact that there are many options available for the solution to the suggestion offered by the server :banghead:

 

I didn't ignore it, I'm fully aware of it. I still think that people should have access to a server-run channel that people can apply for entry for. In fact, people should pay a fee if that's what you want for all I care. So long as people can have access to a channel like this that's provided for by the server.
