But like I said, fish have zero use. If fish were never raised to 50 dollars (i joined shortly before it got dropped, I'm not sure how it started) then no one would be asking for their use, because of uselessness.

 

Even if they weren't $50 before i still think $10 is way to low.

 

Jason, what is the use for pumpkins besides money? Pumpkin pie? But, erm. Nobody eats pumpkin pie. Fishing is the same as pumpkins. Too make money. Plus I just like fishing :D. Even when they got dropped to $10 I still fished. Just with no profit. It was more for the enjoyment of fishing.

 

Think very closely about this, what are fish used for besides making money? Answer = nothing. So if they were never touched in the first place, it would be like raising coal to 10 bucks just because.

Well, you do have a good point, but some people use them for jack o' lanterns. It is true pumpkins are hardly used, and fish are used even less, but i see where your coming from.

So I suppose, fish should be raised just in the interest of moneymaking, but silly autofishers ruin it. I don't see why Andrew just doesn't make autofishing a 2 week ban, followed by a perma-ban. It is like cheating. Like hooking up a program to farm pumpkins for you while you eat lunch.

We can make a rule against auto-fishing then bring them up to fifty!

 

Not possible to Moderate effectively.

 

Step 1. Put a big fat punishment on auto fish.
Step 2. Most people don't do it due to big fat punishment.
Step 3. People that do auto fish get a big fat punishment.
Step 4. Other people realize Andrew isn't joking.
Step 5. A lot more people stop auto fishing.
Step 6. But some don't.
Step 7. More people get big fat punishments.

Repeat steps 4-7 until auto fishers are practically wiped out.

 

You would need to check every person fishing to see if they're actually auto-fishing.

I feel exactly the same way there has to be a way to make auto fishing illegal so that way us that dont use auto fishing mods can actually make fishing a source of making money and not use to level up your Mcmmo.

What we need is a way for lower users to make nice amounts of money. The reason builders can't make ANY money on farming is because the price is based off the fact you have the best tools, biggest farm, and hours of play time.

If fish were 20 bucks, the price would be high enough for builders to make a good bit of money easily, but it would be low enough that it wouldn't fuel a presidents next town.

But I agree, auto fishing is a big problem.
Perhaps on top of monitering people fishing, you could also give out a large punishment, AND offer ecodollar rewards for catching and reporting auto fishers.

Giving 5k to people that report auto fishers would do a lot to stop it. The auto fishers themselves would have to be very wary and not be around any other people. People with a lot of friends = less likely to do it. I think a reward for catching them would be a good motive for people to actively hunt down people that might do it.
