Incidentally, I decided at the last minute to put in an application for the big @TheNorGaming cash giveaway. Please don't spam that thread or anything, but if we're picked for any of the awards, I'll be happy to take suggestions as to how to spend it on the town(s).

 

It's understood between the parties that, since @VinceChaos is buying a larger, more expensive plot, two friends will be allowed to move in with him. However, they won't be added until they have each individually read and agreed to the rules on this thread.

 

Hi, Stoner. I'm the only mayor in Southcaster, although buying there gets you perms in Lancaster, too, where most of the town features are located. Little invasions over the stone bricks are usually OK when cleared with me first. Leaves are probably not a problem. I'll be on for a couple of hours this evening (Eastern Daylight Time, USA), so we can connect then.

 

I think that would be fine. The purpose of keeping the stone bricks in place is to keep track of who owns what and keep people mostly inside their own plots. Something like a fence, where you can still see where the plot outline is, wouldn't hurt that.

 

1. Welcome to all the new members who have joined since the last time I updated the members list. Both lists are now up to date, and checked against the /rg list in-game.
2. We will probably lose three or four players to the 14-day inactivity rule in the next few days, so there will be a few small plots in the main town for new players. Also, a number of players have moved into Southcaster and are dismantling or selling their Lancaster plots.
3. Everyone who has been on the last couple of days has had the chance to reserve a Southcaster plot if they wanted to. I've now started advertising them, and we have a couple of new members who are already building very nice things.
4. After one too many incidents of disappearing horses, the decision was made to apply to toggle the "use" flag to "deny" in Southcaster territory. This is a $10,000 application, and it will NOT prevent animals from spawning in Southcaster (that's a different flag). It will, however, prevent anyone but Southcaster residents from interacting with passive mobs/doors/levers within Southcaster territory. So, Lancaster residents will not be able to capture the horses spawning in Southcaster, or kill the animals spawning there.
5. We won't be doing the same thing for Lancaster, and here's why: Lancaster is always going to be the main town, and everyone will have perms there. It will also be the place where new players buy plots. Those are the folks who are most likely to grief or screw with your animals, so there's no point in spending money that won't really protect you. If you love keeping animals and want to protect them, your solution is to move into Southcaster. There are some smaller plots (10x20) for $2,500 if you don't want to spend a lot.

56 members at the moment -- I haven't asked, but we have to be one of the most active towns on ECC -- if not the most active.

 

I think that's a no-brainer -- approved!
