I believe it would be Mayor. Mayors just got a new town, and one million dollars would help fund all their town projects. To anyone over President+, it would just be used to purchase tools and rare items.

I know I am in the constant need of money as a mayor because I am constantly buying new things for my town.

 

The thing is, this poll will most likely be biased, if people think you may do a giveaway, they will all vote for their rank.
I would say either president or mayor, that way the money could be used on something really important,make a star tool or a few towns.

 

I would say Mayor. Getting Mayor opens up the opportunity for Tycoon+ (last I heard), helps get their town going. As well, Mayors usually show a bit more loyalty to the server (meaning they are more likely to stay) than Builders and Residents. They may also still need tools and such for any town and Nation plans, or making other money, renting out, etc.

Builders and Residents have the most things to get with 1mil, but I am afraid they would throw it away in the lottery, block shop, plots everywhere, etc. Many Builders, for example, do not fully know what the server has to offer - many Residents are the same. Then again, I don't know what kind of contest/competition you are hosting and what it'll show about people. :b

Presidents and Tycoon+ seem the least likely to get stuff, unless they are getting more towns and not Tycoon+ ranks.

 

Definitely Mayors.

 

Hmm more than the rank I believe it depends on the person's projects.
If you wanna do it easy/simple and just give the money to a random person of a certain rank then I'd say Mayor/President works pretty well. As someone said earlier, they are working on their towns, trying to finish them or maybe add another town to the one they have because their project is bigger than what a 200x200 area can hold.

Now, if you want to choose the person who you think it will benefit the most then I'd do what Revanrose6 did in her Christmas giveaway. She made a form that the rest had to complete. If I remember correctly she asked our ranks, project and what we needed (she wasn't doing strictly money, she was giving away either money or items) and what we would use that for.
In your case I suggest you ask for ranks, personal project and how the money would benefit us to fulfill said project. This will give you a more closer look to who you are giving the money to and might even bring a better sense of satisfaction =). You'll be able to choose what project you want to see become a reality and have a dramatic impact on whether it is fulfilled or not. 1 million it's a lot of money that can be very well used if in the right hands and in the people with their minds set on a goal or it can be totally wasted if you give it to someone that doesn't really know what to do with and will probably go for lotto, ranks, etc. (Not that ranks or other stuff are meaningless! But an already shaped project will probable find more benefit from this giveaway).

And if you must know, yes, I'm biased here haha But not in a totally bad way. I think that my suggestion is a pretty neutral one and I would have said the same if I didn't have a big project in my hands going on right now.
I'm trying to build Heavens Arena, which is a 75 square radius tower with several arenas that I intend to make PVP areas. For this I need 4 towns and A TON of materials. So far I have 2 towns out of the 4 I need. I also need to build the city that surrounds this tower. This is from Hunter X (my favorite childhood tv show).

I would say mayor. Not because I have mayor but, they have just got a town and need money to get it started.

 

Honestly, I think it's builder. Cause with that sort of money, you could get all ranks up to Tycoon and still have 220k left. :eek:

 

Mayor.

Builders and Residents may not realize the value of the money as well as a Mayor. A Mayor has had to struggle (in their eyes) to get the $85k to become Mayor. They have an understanding of the money. When you get to President and above, a million dollars doesn't seem so out of reach as it did when they were Mayor.

I think Mayor is that first hurdle. First town that you own completely in your name. ECC is an open canvas and so many options/paths to take.

Before Mayor it is just surviving and getting a foothold. After Mayor it is building up your legacy. Mayor is the focal rank and where a million dollars would impact a player the most.

If I had a million dollars, it would have the most effect on my employment rank. My rank would go from gainfully employed to retired/doing contract work when I want to.

 

I think mayors would use it the most. As I just got mayor a couple of days ago the hard part is supplying money after you just saved up 85k. Paying people to people to place dirt and buying dirt is very expensive I just calculated that I costs almost $20000 to buy and hire people to work!

 

Hlazler_55 the only thing about Builders is that you don't know if they will be serious players or not. They might leave the next day if they don't like the server. If you give them 1 million then, sure, cool they spend it and do a bunch of stuff with it but might get bored once the money is gone because they got it so easily and then they'll find out what the server is truly about and leave.

I would say either mayor or president because they need to fund for their town and add some neccesities.
