I can tell you didn't read or you would have seen the section where I admitted that I agreed with fines if we could figure out the correct amount.

 

Revanrose6 did u see my post where I link a plugin? There are plugins already out there that you can submit warnings and the plugin keeps a list of them for each user. Remember that we have some wonderful developers out there, so if we reach out to JamieSinn maybe he can modify/create a plugin to fit ECC's needs :)

 

If I were designing it, I'd code some sort of plugin to calculate fines that works (Current Bal + Next Rank Cost + Current Rank Cost)/15. Cap the rank costs at 180k a peice (i.e. ignore ranks after president) to avoid too excessive fines). Say a builder that has $10000 gets fined, it'd be (10k+15+0)/15 or about $1600. A President with 400k would be fined around 50k.

If you add in a way to handle when a fine bounces back with insufficient funds, whether just giving staff protocol to handle (like just instant kicking, or a forum warning [you mentioned forum warnings work, why not cross platforms?], or something like that) or add a function to handle it within the plugin, I'd imagine it would be quite effective in deterring most people from violating the rules.

 

That plugin is closed source, and would be impossible to get andrew to use.
He only accepts os plugins.

This would drastically affect the amount of people who purchase ecoleader, ecomaster, and ecolegend. The users that rank up to these ranks help filter money out of the economy. If we don't have them, economy could inflate.

 

I know somewhere in there I mentioned, the values used for "Next Rank Cost" and "Current Rank Cost" would both cap at $180,000. Tycoon+ Users would be fined no differently than presidents.

I like the idea but... I'd like to change it a bit. I don't really like the idea of factoring your current bal because a lot because I, along with several other players, have a large amount of money in signs. People's bals change a lot so this wouldn't be an accurate way to charge, anyways. It should be a fee only if it is a repeat crime unless it is major. Fees shouldn't always use this equation either because not all crimes are equal. I'd like it to be based more on in-game ranks (not some much donation ranks though). I will put an example of what charges I believe would be cheap enough to not scare players away, but expensive enough to have the player learn their lesson.
My opinion for fees in a cursing punishment (2nd time):
Builder: 1000
Resident: 2000
Mayor: 5000
President+: 15,000+
These are averaged examples and I think the staff could think of reasonable prices for each player. If the same complaint comes up again then the fees will multiply. Possible double the fee each time.
