I don't think the staff can ever please everyone at once, they can try, but there will always be some issues - especially with SG.

 

I'm glad people are complaining. People should always be complaining. It is a sign of a healthy server and community. When servers become a single minded cult by either users not complaining or the administration shutting them up, people leave or don't join. Then the sever slowly drifts away. Debate is good as it means people care about this server and want to see it changed in ways they think are better. They might be wrong, but they also might be right, but we won't hear the whole picture unless people complain and speak up.

Yes, it's probably really annoying for staff and other users, which is why this complaining should be done respectfully and not spammy, but that's the price of having a healthy community.

 

I honestly love that buffer was nerfed. I played 1 SG since then and could actually have a nice invis fight :) Thanks @Nicit6 and @MSU_SPaRtAns321 :) I really enjoyed the fights the other day (you two were the only invis 1v1s I had) :) Since buffer was nerfed, SG has been way more enjoyable. Again, thank you to all involved in nerfing it as it was a great step in community enhancement.

Besides, SGers as a group are like golfers -- they have almost as much fun reliving the match afterwards as they do playing it -- and it never sounds like the after-match "gg" is as much fun for anyone as the 17-line argument over who stinks more or who is more dependent on kits.

I've never played SG in my life, but I hang out in global when I'm doing something boring like melon farming, and so I end up listening to a lot of sg conversations without knowing what the actual game looks like... and I can tell you one thing. This has certainly added some energy to all the SG conversations, and it sounds like a ton of people are having to rethink their strategies and not play the same old strategy over and over and over again....

You guys... think that's bad?

 

The complaining hasn't increased. It's just that less people complain about buffer so Spy, which was also a victim of a lot of complaining, is now the top thing to complain about.

 

I actually think this bfr nerf made spy more OP.. Especially when you own both those kits together.

 

My opinion:

Those who are complaining that buffer wasn't nerfed enough: The % increase of the strength was halved - No one can argue that that isn't a significant decrease.
- Also, non-kitters now have better chances of better items (diamond) and have other ways to catch/kill players using cobwebs/tnt/fire etc.

To those who are complaining that buffer was nerfed full stop: You still have a strength potion that increases you damage by 130%, I have played a lot of games in my past and I've never seen a potion which gives you a 130% buff.. Normally the number is between 10-30%, so this is still a HUGE buff.

 

What's the matter matrix? Why would you be soooo upset about kits being removed? Can't play without em (Just joking)?

On a serious note, what riku said. When kit buffer was created, strength wasnt as OP. As a matter of fact, wasn't OP at all. So Unknownrider brought back this fact and gave another perspective. So; buffer was RESTORED not exactly nerfed. There are legal issues with changing kits so Phys wouldn't do it. Buffer was changed because it was restored. They found a reason to change it. Spy won't be changed unless the same scenario occurs.

 

It took me over a year to simply nerf one itty bitty kit. If anyone believes I will ever cave they truly don't know me that well lol :p

TL;DR your kits are safe and won't be removed from you.

PS: I like what @rosypolly said, complaining and discussing is great. If no one talked or voiced opinions it would make for one dull community. As long as it's not super troll/spam complaining, it's perfectly acceptable, even appreciated. Shows people care :)

haha kits getting removed would be good for the server. back when there was no kits sg was legit almost impossible to get into, people were crowding around the 4 signs all day long and the sgs were pretty much filled up all day. Kits were added, 1 year later theres like 1 game going on every 20 minutes with an afk sitting outside.

 

When everyone was complaining about buffer being way too OP, now they're complaining that it isn't OP enough, when a very small minority of players actual wanted buffer to remain?

If our kits are "safe", why is there a discussion for 1/4 vs 1/3 vs 1/2 no kit arenas?

We could still have the kits, but only being able to use them half of the time is crazy.

 

Hmm. Let's think about this democratically.

The community spoke and exercised their ability to speak up for what they feel would help the server.

-bfr nerf to str1: Worked nicely

-bfr time doubled: Does not really matter

-bfr removal: thousands of dollars have been used to buy bfr for hundreds of players. You can't waste people's money like that.

-bfr str2 1:30: People would continue to complain about the kit.

What choice did the mods have? Like, they work hard to try and make the server better. Let's be satisfied with their labour of love. :)

 

I think there is more complaining because now you not only have non-kitters complaining, but people who used buffer are now complaining. If we remove buffer, there will be a ton of complaining from buffer users and potentially other users who rely on killing people that have buffer in order to acquire the potions. The users who will be cheering will most likely be low-donating or no-donating people.Since they know they now have influence over donations that they didn't even pay for, why should they donate? If they complain enough, donaters and non-donaters will have the same chances at everything. They don't feel it's fair that some users fly and they don't? If we complain enough, we'll all fly or no one will. In conclusion to this, I don't think nerfing any kit or removing anything is a good solution

If we restore buffer, there will be cheering donaters and outraged non-donaters. Sadly for the non-donaters, this may be the best way to stop some of the complaining. ECC relies off of donations, and restoring buffer will most likely raise donations because it's now more powerful. Sorry non-donaters, but if you're not donating, you're not helping the server too much. Since sg kits were added, we can't take them back.
