New interview with... me. Neat.
THCOOL: Suh dude.
eekelmo: Suh dude.
THCOOL: What's up, we've got the one and only eekelmo-
265: 265*
THCOOL: 265, sorry. So, we'll start off with that by the way. Why did you change your name to 265?
eekelmo: Um, I honestly have absolutely no idea. I kind of just decided that I wanted to have a three character name, and here I am today. It's really molded me as a person.
THCOOL: Well that's an amazing story.
eekelmo: Yeah I know.
THCOOL: So how did you find ECC?
eekelmo: Well back in mid-2012 or so, a user called nickla3107, you may know him as devotedtoallah, he introduced me to the server. Um, he, we're real life friends we go to school together and basically he's just like 'yo come onto this server it's pretty cool.' And then I started off in a town called pumpkinville, forrestville sorry. And that's how I started off and found the server.
THCOOL: Forrestville huh?
eekelmo: Yeah, now owned by dgam I think. Or it's owned by obble, I'm not sure.
THCOOL: So why is the Vault of ECC so great?
eekelmo: Um, well really the Vault of ECC just has an amazing administration team. Um, nah I'm just kidding, the Bank of Babylon, 29 Financial, they outclass us. I think that if you want a loan you should go to them. (Raise your kappas)
THCOOL: *laughs in French*
eekelmo: Vault of ECC is trash, you heard it here first.
THCOOL: Heard it here first, alright. So what are some of your greatest accomplishments on ECC?
eekelmo: Well I'd say being the first person to get the EXP medal.
THCOOL: Were you?
eekelmo: Yeah, the first person to get the EXP medal, which is like 200,000 exp orbs, or maybe it's 500,000 I don't know.
THCOOL: When did you do that?
eekelmo: Within like 20 minutes of it coming out. Also getting EcoMaster was pretty good, I thought I'd be an EcoLeader forever, but I'm not a scrub.
THCOOL: We all know that mayor rank is the best.
eekelmo: And I'd say also getting in all the leaderboards, like the notable members except for most messags on the forums.
THCOOL: That's right, you just hit uh, 5,000 points right?
eekelmo: Yeah I can't say that I'm proud of that. Fury (Fudge) just randomly decided to rate me. But yeah sure.
THCOOL: Much love to SuburbSomeone for more than half of those.
eekelmo: Yeah thanks Suburb and Gideon for at least 60% of my ratings probably.
THCOOL: Pretty much. Do you have any advice for users that wish to become rich on ECC?
eekelmo: Okay um, if you really want to become rich. It's easier said than done, but basically patience is the thing, set small goals, say instead of saying 'Today I'm going to make 50k', instead say 10k, and then you'll be like 'Ok I just made 10k I may as well keep going for a bit more, make an extra 5k. You know if you have small goals you'll be constantly achieving them you know, so it's like more rewarding, and you keep yourself motivated.
THCOOL: So aim low?
eekelmo: *laughs* That's now how I'd word it but sure.
THCOOL: I'm messin with ya. So what is the most important thing to you?
eekelmo: On ECC I'd say my ratings. Kidding, uh the most important thing to me on ECC to me would probably be, as cheesy as it sounds, probably the people. Because it's a multiplayer server, if I was the only one playing it it'd be pretty crappy. Nice to be able to talk to people and all that and have a community.
THCOOL: Pretty nice. So uh, explain what happened you last resigned back before you lost staff.
eekelmo: *laughs* So there were certain conflicts that occurred. I'm not going to detail them for obvious reasons, certain conflicts occurred occurred that caused me to be quite unhappy with how I felt about the staff team. You may recall people saying 'Hard work goes unnoticed' because that was how I felt at the time, that hard work goes unnoticed. I think completely the other way now, that's why I resigned. I kind of made a rash design, got a bit too salty. And then I got banned, I won't say the ban reason because that's illegal.
THCOOL: /ban
eekelmo: But basically I just made a silly decision. I do regret it but it's been good because, again a cliche thing, but it taught me a lot about how to react to certain situations, and how to not make an ass of myself.
THCOOL: Yep, learn from your mistakes. So why did you return to staff?
eekelmo: I kind of started to miss it to be honest, it's actually pretty fun being staff. It can be a bit boring sometimes because you feel obligated to do the hours, but overall it's pretty good. It's a good experience, and it's really nice to be able to make a difference. You know because being on staff you have much more influence to be able to help out and do things.
THCOOL: What actually happened? I'm pretty sure you applied and then a few days later *boom* you were on staff. And this was only a week or two after the initial staff picks.
eekelmo: Yeah 4 days I think, lemme check *checks*, yeah 4 days after I applied andrew decided to approach me and he said um, I can't release exactly what he told me. But basically he told me a few things and asked me if I wanted to be on staff and I said yes because I did slightly have an app open, so I said yes. It was quite nice to be approached by andrew rather than a normal pick.
THCOOL: Prodigy.
eekelmo: Yep, I'm the messiah, just kidding.
THCOOL: Messiah, 265.
eekelmo: Yeah, I mean it's quite interesting I didn't expect to get picked so fast. I was very surprised, but it was pretty nice.
THCOOL: Yeah that's a pretty cool story 265. So since we're talking about staff do you have any advice to anybody who is wanting to join the staff team in the future?
eekelmo: No I do not.
THCOOL: ....
eekelmo: I'm kidding, um-
THCOOL: Alright then...
eekelmo: Alright um so basically be yourself, because nobody wants to see someone like 'Oh cool staff apps are open' or 'I just applied for staff, time to start helping builders, time to start sitting at spawn'. Really that's not what we're looking for. We're looking for people that have shown that they're genuine, they actually care. And, I do appreciate that people decide to do stuff like sit at spawn and help out builders, but if you're doing that just to get staff I really can't say I approve of that. Being genuine, being mature, thinking before you speak you know. Is this (message) necessary for me to say? Will it cause any harm? Is it going to help anyone? Really think before you speak a lot and put a lot of thought into your actions. I mean if you don't get it one round don't let that get you down because honestly, if you really think you're knowledgeable enough and all that to get it it'll probably happen eventually.
THCOOL: Yeah I know people who have applied at least 10 times before they were picked.
eekelmo: I mean blowtube, or brandbauer I should say, he applied like 18 times before getting staff and he did really well.
THCOOL: Yeah you never know. Alright so is there anything else you'd like to add?
eekelmo: Yeah actually, thanks to @12345shane for nominating me and thanks for all the people that voted for me in the poll, so yeah cheers.-
