I do agree, that this is a great suggestion!!! On the other hand, it would have to know like what this user is advertising. Because like someone said if your advertising it should be 0 warnings, but spamming/talking in tr or auc, should be 3 warnings, so knowing what your doing would play a role. The staff and mods do a great job at enforcing the rules, and keep making ecc better!!!

Suggestion: Create a completely new way for Moderators to know when to or when not to ban users. Lets start off with a warning system. Every month, each user can get 6 warnings. Each rule broken will have a different number of set warnings. For example, A user would get 1 warning for spamming something more than 2 times in 1 hour. Then lets say trolling, each time someone is caught trolling with credible evidence this user should get 3 warnings. Once all 6 warnings are gone in 1 month, this user should get banned for good. Also, the commands {/warn [username] [reason]} and {/warnings [# of warnings] [Why they were warned] (Staff only command)} could be created for Moderators to use. -

Eh, i don't like the layout, but i do like the idea of a /warn username reason command. It would send a red/pink alert to you only (like a pm) that would get your attention right away.

As for the warnings, I do not think that it should send any kind of notification to the player, we can warn users in-game, or pm. Or there could be two commands, one that send the player a message, and logs it, and the other that just logs it. Having an automated command that logs the warning could be a nice addition, as long as it does nothing else, besides send a warning if you want to, and even require them to accept it. If you remove the automated "Strike" system, I could see this being a useful command. (Sorry for any poor grammar in this post, change my mind half-way through.)

The thing that worries me even more is users still break rules even after moderators warnings and these users shouldn't even need a warning, they know the rules and know they need to obey them

I believe a system which logs warnings for informational purposes only would be a great idea. Therefore moderators can decide whether or not they wish to give another warning or take more severe action at their discretion. Overall I see an idea like this to be great, though the specifics would need to be worked upon.

No, but what I'm saying is they're usually busy helping someone or on the forums, they can't see all the aspects at once. With a command, they can powertool it (right? I don't have powertool so I'm going off of what I've heard it can do) to warn a player. And grief is one small part of what they moderate. The have to look out for scams, wrong chat channel, language, spawn, Builder PM's, etc. -

I've rarely seen the server where there's only 1 or a few mods, and they are all busy. But then again I don't play as much as soon people.
But seriously, powertooling it would be like Andrew putting a "Ban" button on your profile, he could click it when you need a ban. -

Powertooling the warning command, Jason. Let's not go to the extremes, now :p

I am not trolling or anything, but I disagree with this idea. The warning system is doing fine, or so it seems to me. I do think that mods should be a little bit harsher in some cases, though.

+1 excellent idea. I agree that when you do </warn user reason> is should warn them and also logging it so if another moderator comes along and see he brakes the rule he can search it up in some sort of log file and it will show that s/he has already broken that rule, making it so if a player has already been warned they get a more powerful punishment then just a warning. Maybe also add to the logs when the </ban user reason> command gets used it shows it in that log because when that player gets pardoned staff should be aware of that person already being warned.
