The way we currently log transactions is a little messy, but the idea on the whole isn't a bad idea.
Kuke said he was going to handle this a few months back, and i think Iaccidentally was also considering doing this.

If neither of them get around to completing it, or andrewkm gives me a nudge specifically, I'll work on it.

I tried messing with this a while back with a flat file, then with sql but eventually gave up on it, id love to help if needed :D
