What I do is press PrintScrn then CTRL-V to a program like paint which in automatically installed on windows I think. Then, save and upload to a site like imgur. This way I have it for later reference.

+1, if a banned user really wants to get unbanned, all they should be able to post/comment is a ban appeal.

Besides, if someone's complaining about their ban in shoutbox it's easier for me to tell them to appeal.-

Let's just say, hypothetically, this happens.
How are you proposing we even implement and enforce this?
To block them from shoutbox, a GA would have to go into forum accounts everytime someone's banned and turn off their shoutbox perms (and I don't even know if GAs can do that or if it's just me, and to be quite honest since I've never done it I don't even know if I can do it either), and then turn them back on upon a successful appeal.
Without doing that, we're just handing out a bunch of forum warnings and doing a lot of /seen on everyone who talks in the shoutbox.
Do you actually have a method of doing this that is plausible, or are you just complaining about people talking about their bans in the shoutbox?-

Since this probably isn't possible, I suggest that moderators hand out forum warnings for those who repetetively complain about their bans.

you aren't always there, moderators aren't always there.
they only get a warning when OTHER people start discussing the ban and it turns into a flame war. at which point its already too late and the damage has been done -
Considering you yourself don't even know if its possible how am I supposed to precisely know what is technically capable of happening? But yes, I am asking for a discussion of the feasibility of this request. Is it possible? Is it necessary? It was not an intention of this suggestion to ask for additional forum warnings. What I see is that there is a natural tendency for people that are banned to camp in the shoutbox because they can't get in game. And because they can't get in game they complain about not being able to get in game.
What I think should happen is that when a player is banned in game they need to keep their forum permissions but lose their shoutbox permissions. I understand that it might not even be technically possible. But I still wanted to make the request because I think it would be better for the community. -
From my perspective, I have come to realization that none of my suggestions are taken seriously and are taken as me complaining about whatever.
I don't feel as if the staff takes them seriously because of the way I treat the people that cause the suggestions.
What I hope for in my suggestions is to give voice to those agree with me. I want to give flight to thoughts and feelings similar to my own. People do agree with me. The people that do agree with are the people I am trying to reach. Generally the people that disagree with me are usually part of the problem and therefore are not going to be part of the solution.
I know there are some people that I respect the opinions of that generally disagree with me (mendiboi usually comes to mind), but I really don't care if I piss off the people that I think are part of the problem. I'm not going to change their beliefs, I'm not going to change their behavior. I'm trying to change how they are treated because that is only thing that reaches them.
I'm not going to stop making suggestions because I really do feel that the suggestions I make would make this a better place, not just for me but everyone that isn't a jerk who plays here. I wouldn't go through all of this effort to change something just to fit my own personal whims. -
After reading all the comments, I think that banned players should be allowed to use the shoutbox, but moderators should be stricter and hand out more warnings to those who choose to be impatient and complain about their bans in the shoutbox.
I understand that one may want to talk in the shoutbox to catch up on something they might have missed as long as they don't complain about their tempbans and bans.-

Revanrose6 Sith LordECC Sponsor Tycoon ⛰️⛰️⛰️ Ex-EcoLegend ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Prestige ⭐ I ⭐ Gameplay Architect Premium UpgradeAlthough I would agree that some do that, I would argue that others chat.
Now, I'm not going to argue the morals/should we/should we not do this part of the argument. I'm going to instead address how hard this would be to execute.
First for the sake of argument lets assume we can deny specific people access to the shout box. I know we can bar Builders from the shout box but that is a group with a label of forum permissions. So let us, for the sake of argument say that you can bar specific people as well.
Now based on that assumption let us look at the facts. Only Andrewkm, as far as I know, can directly edit player's specific permissions. Therefore anytime a player gets banned we would have to contact Andrewkm and he would have to remove their permission to the shout box. That would be a lot of effort for just one man who already has several things to do.
Now the possible solution to that is to make a 'Banned User' Permission list. From what I understand of the permission we may be able to do that. In that case a GA would have to be alerted of every single ban.
Finally, we would then have the issue of having to alleviate the issue for every unbanned player. This would essentially mean that SuperMods could no longer do appeals because a GA would be required to fix their permissions.
Essentially the request you are asking for would require a larger change in the ECC Staff team than I believe you realize. I understand the reason you want it, but personally this sounds like more effort than it would help.

TL : DR - Too much work not enough benefits. -
well then I would ask staff to start more reliably issuing warnings for users discussing bans and open appeals.
It's illegal right? So warn them for it.I understand this suggestion might not be logistically possible but staff should be monitoring shoutbox and issuing informal and then formal warnings. If they get enough they would get a forum ban which is what they would deserve for not following forum rules.
Can you please bring that request to staff, and staff leadership? It seems like a legitimate request and is eminently doable. -
it happens a lot
way too much
and its been happening more and more since i made this suggestion a while ago and still nothing has changed
the shoutbox still seems like the wild west frontier where users get away with things that they wouldnt normally get away with in game.
