    Currently Star Rod is nice...nice decoration that is.

    Economically-speaking (and this is an economy server after all), fishing is essentially worthless.

    Even with a high mcmmo level (holds true for max level as well), there is no worthwhile money-making in fishing. How can we fix this? Please use numbers to comment on individual suggestions.

    1) Increase server prices for fish.
    A valid method, but one that does not make fishing mcmmo worth training. It has the same % increase for star rod users and regular fishermen so doesn't particularly help the star rod directly. Since fish are already overpriced to use as food though...this is a viable option.

    2) Change star rod stats
    Not sure if this is possible, but maybe give it a higher chance to somehow catch 2+ things at once? Or increase it to Lure IX?

    3) Improve mcmmo fishing drops
    This could take the form of re-activating legendary drops (my personal favorite idea). It could also involve dropping the lower level tools from the possible catches and instead (or in addition) adding in additional fish or items (ex. 2-8 glowstone or prismarine blocks or heck, netherstars (as the "record" drop...anything with monetary value really)

    Given that mcmmo drops are a clear % chance, its really easy to calculate how much money you'd be giving ppl per hour and whether this would seriously affect the economy by making fishing bypass other money-making methods.

    Make fish $15. That would be a good boost to the power of the star bow to the point where it is proportional to the melon sword in terms of profit per hour divided by total cost.

    Improve drops (the reason I quit fishing is every other cast I would get leather armor.)
    Increase prices by $5 each.
    Raw fish --> $15
    Salmon --> $20
    Pufferfish --> $25
    Clownfish --> $30

    Yes please. Do anything to increase income from fishing cause right now fishing isnt great. Another option would be to lower the amount of nstars needed to 1k , unless we're having an increase in fish prices.

    Only problem is autofishers- is what higher ups will say. We'll get this! People will still make x1000000 more with x-Ray than autofishing! Therefore the reason for this denial should not be autofishing.

    Lure IX and higher don't work. VIII is the highest level that catches fish.

    Ha... Increase the price of fish, and fix the mcmmo drops actually account for fishing level and give the proper drops for that level, yes diamond drops included. Oh and mcmmo salvaging skill being added would definitetly help with of the junk drops of item and gold armours/swords/tools

    1. Fish used to be $50/each, though this was back way before when only one kind of fish was an option. Those who persist in using auto-fishing methods ensured that the price of fish got nerfed and stayed nerfed. I doubt this will change.

    2. I don't think the enchantments can get any higher without breaking something... pretty sure I heard someone say that after they first came out.

    3. I completely agree. Even with McMMO donation perks the percentage chance of catching enchanted or otherwise unusual items is low, and we can customize to make it as rare as we want. However, keeping certain items from being fished up, like plain diamonds, I agree with... though perhaps, for the highest of fishing skills, diamond armor could be added instead of the usual junk.

    @Netsui made a suggestion about all this once upon a time that I'm sure would still be relevant to this suggestion.

    In addition, my understanding of the fishing/mcmmo we have is that whenever you catch a "treasure" you also catch a fish as well so that not all your casts are wasted with a majority of junk.

    I agree with improving mcmmo fishing drops.
    Actually fishing is not that worthless although it seems is. I have counted how much I can make from one hour fishing, about 7500 worth of fish and 6500 exp orbs, if you can sell exp at $0.65 each, you can get 7500 + 6500*0.65 = 11725. That's much more than what you can get from pumpkin farming. I know I shouldn't compare star tools with pumpkin axes, but a star rod usually is cheaper than an eff7 or a melon sword and it doesn't require a farm. Besides, fishing with a star rod is fun, I personally love fishing. It's at least more interesting than farming, you never know what you'll get next, even though it could be garbage. So just enable the diamonds drop and more good stuff you can get from fishing.

    Even assuming you sell for 0.72 each, that's less than 13k. And I'm assuming that's nonstop fishing with decent luck because
    [math incoming]

    1) Average time to start fish particles: 0.28 seconds
    2) Average fish particle duration time: unknown (based on experiences, I'd say 2-10 seconds) [6 seconds]
    3) Time to catch and re-throw line: 1 seconds-ish [1 second]

    Average time to catch a fish: 7.28 seconds [seems fast...but sure, let's go with that]

    So: approx. 500 fish / hour [Sounds like WAY too much]
    Average value of catch: (0.6*10+0.25*15+0.02*25+0.13*20) = $12.85
    XP (15 orbs/catch), sold at $0.72 each. $.72*15*500 = $5,400
    FINAL VERDICT AVG GAINZ: $11,825
    And a Star Rod has the audacity to have "Star" in its name. Even assuming 500 catches/hour...which is extremely doubtful. This is approximately equivalent to non-stop pumpkin farming and inferior to cocoa farming.

    Only way to make EXISTING star rods upgrade to a new enchant is to have someone with that power to do so. Its possible with new rods, but very wishful thinking for currently existing ones.

    I think the best way to do this would be making better drops and perhaps a slight fish price increase (or make the value of the drops make up the difference).

    However EXP from fishing should be nerfed as it being a significant drop from fishing not only makes the total $/hr harder to calculate but actively hurts the market.

    Or just lower the % of the drop rate, as i have seen the McMMO files and know its only changing data numbers.
    You could also add new items into drops, make it possible to catch 5 ingots instead of 1 etc.

    So lower the drop rate of the tools, Increase price of fish slightly, oh and fix the xp market, that would help #GoodLuck

    Rather then taking that away from underpowered fishing, why not nerf Mining World EXP for the overpowered mining?

    Add xp to nether, make it slightly smaller, and keep fishing xp, that way if you want to gain xp in a safe enviroment, if will encourage people to fish, which raises price of Star Rods, also raisers xp market because there is less in the market, and then you just have to find something else to make people want to collect exp.

    Well keep in mind my post is meant as whole, buff fishing to a point where it's better than before even with the EXP gone. Win/win. The fact right now is fishing generates probably the largest portion of EXP in the market as the EXP/hour of fishing is higher than anything else.
