• Suggestion:
  • Make permabanned users pay USD to get back to the server

• Reason:
  • Let's be honest, it's too easy to get back right now: you just have to lie saying you're so sorry and that you will never ever again etc etc. This is an incentive to hypocrisy. Obviously this is not working, as we have plenty of multiple offenders around. I'm not saying that this is mods' fault, as I acknowledge that it could be difficult to determine whether an appealer is sincere or not. But for this reason, I think that a mods' impression is not enough. We need to establish a serious and objective deterrent from offending again: my idea is that, to get back from a permaban, you have to pay an amount that grows exponentially with the number of times you have been permabanned:
    • 1st permaban: 10 USD
    • 2nd permaban: 20 USD
    • 3rd permaban: 40 USD
    • 4th permaban: 80 USD
    • 5th permaban: 160 USD
    • etc.
  • Enforcing this would have a number of benefits:
    • This would be a real, solid deterrent against violation of rules;
    • More money and resources for the server;
    • Less work for mods, who would have to scroll over a much limited collection of appeals;
    • Multiple offenders, after a point, will just stop coming back because they can't afford that much;
      
    • A deterrent which grows with the number of offences is the most fair of all solutions;
    • Of course permaban will be reserved only for serious offence such as scamming, cheating, major grief, etc: for minor offences will be only issued warnings, tempbans, etc.
  • But I'm innocent! It's not fair that I have to pay!
    • If you are truly innocent, you can just appeal normally and prove your innocence: if staff realizes it was a mistake to permaban you (it could happen), you will be unbanned with no consequences and nothing to pay.
  • But there's already the balance and stats wipe! It's not fair that I get to pay in USD as well!
    • Balance and stats wipe is enforced only in a limited amount of cases (it's not enforced for loan scammers, afaik);
    • Your balance amount depends on a number of factors that have nothing to do with your recidivism: you could be at your first offence and have an enormous balance, or you could be at your tenth offence with a marginal balance. Do you think that would be fair?
  • But this makes it easier for the wealthy! It's not fair that I have to pay with real life money!
    • Uhm, hello? We are on an economy server: it's full of people who can fly and do all sort of stuff just because they could afford purchasing the feature. If you think this is not fair, why do you want to come back in the first place?
    • Just like features, you can have someone pay in USD on your behalf in exchange for in-game currency (which you will be able to pay after coming back).
  • But I can't pay them now because I'm permabanned, and they won't pay for me now if I don't pay them ingame first! This is not fair!
    • Well well... it seems you can't find anybody who trusts you, after all. Guess what? You asked for it.

If you think that paying for coming back is not fair, how the hell can you think it fair that you have to pay to place water?
I myself have 800 USD in features and I'm very proud to say that I've spent not a single cent from real life money. If you really are someone that could change, then have someone pay for you!

 

But let's not forget the main point: don't want to pay real life money? Then DON'T GET BANNED. It's as simple as this.

For sure not scamming, trolling, cheating and being an idiot like those who get banned. If you're a hard worker and you make a mistake once, you can always come back, regardless of your real life wealth.

Uhm, do you understand exponential growth? After a point, however rich you can be, it'll start being too much even for you.
