[Suggestion] Make banned users pay USD to get back to the server

That was before I understood the issues associated with giving water use to everybody. Thanks for bringing up a year old post.

 

I was responding to Dccciz's idea.

But we're just giving out the message that if you keep paying the owner, staff will deal with you regardless. ECC isn't built as a for-profit company who's only intentions are to make money - we're a community, which yes, at times does need money, but we should never be going that far.

 

It's hard to tell sincerity based on text, but what you're suggesting is even a worse idea by not requiring any sincerity at all.

 

Woo! Elitism!

This is a game for fun, not the Supreme Court.

Seriously though, this would lead to corruption for that matter. One mod could really want ECC to get a few extra bucks and ban a few people. What happens if there is a wrongful ban and they cough up the $10 to get back for something they didn't do wrong? You normally only lose your hobby, but now you're losing some of your paycheck. That's ridiculous if you ask me.

 

Some are sincere though, and some have contributed lots to the community. We already have serious deterrents like you want in place - The more times you get banned, the more you have to put effort in your appeal and the longer the tempban will be. And to the point where an repeat offender has been banned so many times, it get ridiculous, the administration can and has PermaBanned players like that.

We already have multiple deterrents in place, and this won't help.

I'm 10 years old and I forgot to replant two carrots at the farm in my town. I get banned for griefing and ECC is my favorite server. I'm 10 years old and can't pay. So what do I do? I can't do anything unless I steal my parents credit card. Would you like that? Complaints from parents about stolen credit cards? Or would you rather have a place where you have an opportunity to get unbanned without paying money?

 

Well, it'd be quite nice to respond to my point...

 

Neither will be accomplished through this suggestion.

 

And if it happens again on accident?

Update the main suggestion because I can't seem to decipher your point. You're yelling at everyone for not reading the post, yet, you say that if you're banned for essentially anything, then you have to pay and if you're continued to be banned for whatever reason under the sun, you've gotta pay up. Please, make you're point clearer so I can actually understand the suggestion and have it not come off as a corrupt way of handling appeals.
