A high ranking staff member can keep them until its decided who gets it. Again the only way to find out if any of this will work is with a test. We have both proven that this can go back and forth until one of us dies so at this point going on with the debate is pointless.

 

Test? For how long? How people see things can change hugely over time.

 

Who would hold it exactly? I'm sure high ranking staff members don't have enough time to do this. But who knows, I'm not one...

 

1. I think you miss understood my economy argument. I'm saying that if no one takes any risks of getting scammed it would destroy the entire player-player economy and all that would be left is player to server which is where inflation comes from. I never said not doing this will tank the economy, but I did say that doing this will encourage a player-player economy which is good. 2. You're right people should learn to take risks better, but that's not gona happen. 3. The thing about the charity medal isn't really much different from people buying/earning any other medal only this time their helping people. Most people will see it as either buying a medal and helping other people or they are donating money to help other people and hey you get a medal to. Either way you're helping people and that's wha really matters.

 

1. I didn't misunderstand your point. I completely understand it and you negate yourself in your second point. If people didn't take risks, ECC wouldn't be here. Your point is that people don't take risks, when people are going to do it anyway. And if they get scammed, what are they gonna do, right? Your point is unproven and quite honestly preposterous.
2. If they don't take the precaution to not get scammed, why are we helping them? For them to do it again?
3. Yes, that's true. But it seems like too much work of holding onto the money and then giving it to someone. It seems to complicated and quite honestly, more things will go wrong than things going right.

We are helping them because they are in need of help, and if they don't see any reason to stay and they leave the server suffers. Plus there is not really any way to know of they took precautions now. 3. I don't really see what is so complicated with the system it actually is pretty simple for the most part.

 

If ten people get scammed and one gets helped, the nine leave. The one that got chosen is now dependent on this system and gets scammed again and is not chosen. They inevitably quit. Is this going full circle now?

 

We've talked about this before. This system doesn't cause people to be dependent on the server. If someone gets scammed they go through the stress of it all but they have a chance of getting paid back by the server, they luck out and they get paid. They don't wana get scammed again so they trade under different conditions or just don't trade at all. They don't become dependent.

 

Players will be lost is my point. They eventually will leave or become dependent on the server. They will leave directly or indirectly because of this system. However, if people were to create a charity organization, I would not have a problem with it at all.

 

First, I truly love and appreciate the staff and owners (yes, especially our founder) and have been supportive of them in every way I can. That said, I do disagree with your statement that a corrupt team member would be caught pretty quick given the fact that we just had a multi-account player as a respected team member.
Even with this, I still trust our staff and owners to do the very best for us in the long run.
Multiple accounting seems to have run rampant here lately, scammers and trolls always find ways around rules, loopholes, and exploits because they simply don't believe they need to follow them. I commend our staff and owners for their continued diligence in searching out and actively stemming the problems here at ECC.

 

Well obviously players will eventually leave but that isn't directly or indirectly because of the system. People won't become dependent because they likely won't be helped by this system more than once and people won't become dependent after being helped once. If people directly leave because of not getting picked by the system they probabally would have left if this system wasn't in place, and I don't really get how people would leave indirectly because of the system.

 

That wasn't the point. The point was that if 10 people apply and only one gets chosen, the other nine will leave. If that person is to get scammed again and isn't picked, they will leave as they feel as if they should be chosen again. 10 people leaving isn't better than nine, but I can tell you that the 10th person will leave because they become dependent on the server.

I can tell you that people will leave due to someone not getting picked. Or if they get picked, they will get scammed again and leave. People will indirectly leave through the tax that it being implemented. If people don't like it, they will leave. That's an indirect effect of it.

 

No one/ almost no one is going to leave to a tax increase that is barely noticeable and will barely affect them. If they do that's a massive over reaction and the only one you can really blame is the people who leave. For the next point if someone gets scammed they are likely to not get scammed again or atleast be less likely to be scammed. If people leave because they didn't get picked it's not the systems fault because they would have left anyways. People won't feel like they should be chosen if they get chosen once so people won't expect to be picked again they will hope to be picked again.

 

People will leave because of a tax increase. Taxes = bad for all. You're assuming people will not get scammed again. But they will. Anyone can be scammed, and if they "win" and are "awarded money", they will become dependent on the server. That's not good. They hope to be picked = Server dependency.

 

You're not going anywhere you're just ignoring my points and restating your points slightly differently. People getting money from the server a time won't really make them dependent because it's just one time and it isn't a big chance of being picked. If someone gets help from this system yeah they still can get scammed but it isn't certian to happen so you don't have much of an argument there.

 

How will the players be chosen?

 

I don't get the intention of this suggestion. Why isn't more effort being put into stopping the people from scamming, instead of helping the people that got scammed?

Isn't that a more effective use of resources? Or is this whole thread just a bunch of blustering for the sake of looking like something is being done, while doing very little to address the problem?
