+1 im tired of users lying in ban appeals

 

The whole purpose of the suggestion forums is for ideas to come from the community. The rules may be enforced by the Staff team, but they don't solely originate from them - The general player base has a role to play in it too.

In all seriousness, I agree with this but only in the case in which a server admin or Andrew clearly catches them lying or if the lie is blatant enough that anyone with a 1st grade education could catch. Repeated lies should also be subject to increasing ban lengths.

I'm going to reply as if this comment says:

"If they lie, then they may appeal in 3 days and tell the truth. So this is pathetic IMO.
Until then keep building."

Without this suggestion, then they can just "tell the truth" 10 minutes later and the lie has no consequence. The whole purpose of an appeal is to own up to your actions and show remorse. To demonstrate that you understand that what you did was wrong and you aren't going to attempt to do it again in the future.

If you are caught lying on an appeal, I feel that you haven't done any of that. You haven't shown that you understood what you did was wrong. You haven't learned anything. You aren't showing remorse and, in fact, do not believe the rules apply to you. "This lying is pathetic, IMO".

This deserves reflection, and time away will make your heart grow fonder and perhaps you will realize the seriousness of your actions and how it harms the communtiy as a whole and why the rules is in place. And lying isn't the way out.

I have more respect for someone who owns up to their mistake and makes a sincere attempt at reform. Just saying what people want to hear or covering up your mistake really just shows your immaturity and lack of responsibility.

Right now there is no impacting negative side to lying on an appeal. I agree with the OP and think there needs to be one.

Yes! These people are sooo annoying and deserve a hammer hit to their account!

 

They should have to wait at least 24 hours between appeals.

 

Actually there is a punishment for lying on appeals. Say you lie about hacking when theres plenty of evidence, you will normally get a longer temp ban for doing it.

 

And this won't happen because people some times falsify and tamper evidence to get others in trouble, so your telling the truth but the evidence is tampered but the mods don't know that so they ban you from forums then they find out it's faked, so this idea will just make it more confusing and be a waist of time.

 

Ok, if I see another comment on this suggest directed at another user, bashing them, in anyway I will be locking the thread. Currently all I see in this post is you specifically dragging these users names through the dirt. You can continue with your suggestion but another word that can be considered to be insulting to another user will result in this thread being locked and the responses removed.
I will not stand by while you think you can just sit there and throw users names around just to prove your point, in the mean time being nothing but offensive and demeaning to those users.
You say you want more severe forum punishment but almost daily I see nothing but you ignoring staff instructions and, as shown above, do nothing but slander other users.
Another comment like this one and the thread will be locked.
Also forum warning issue for slandering users.
