    Minecraft Name: Falconaire

Suggestion: My suggestion is to separate the kitters from the normal players, with added benefits for playing in "kit arenas" versus "normal arenas". There are plenty of incentives that could be used to make it so kits are still relevant and normal players are motivated to go out and donate for them. The biggest advantage to playing in a kit arena would be a substantial increase in the amount of ECD's you get for each kill/win. A new forum medal(s) could be added as well, similar to the current SG medals. The criteria for this medal would be determined by the administration of course, but it would be a medal unique for kit users.

Other rewards could be used to further incentivize the use of kit arenas, but the two above are relatively simple and fair in my opinion. If anyone has other ideas on advantages to kit arenas I'd be happy to see them suggested.

Reason: Kits are a huge problem in terms of the image it gives new players when they join the server. It is seriously driving away dozens of potential dedicated players everyday, and it's unfortunate that ECC is judged off of one thing; kits. I've heard our SG called the most unfair SG people have ever played far too often, and something really does needs to be done about it. Separating kitters from normal players will level the playing field once again, while still giving kit users an advantage to justify their generous donations.

Any Other Information: There is no perfect solution in this scenario, regardless of what is done people are going to agree and disagree. However, in order for ECC to get past the "pay to win" atmosphere our SG currently possesses, some sort of middle-ground needs to be established. I don't think kits should be removed altogether, but I know for sure they shouldn't be left as they are. For the overall good of the server, reform is necessary.

    Don't think it will be done for two reasons;

    1. Suggestions haven't been considered in a long time
    2. It's a money maker
    3. Too many people paid for 'em
    4. Too many people complaining when they lose their money even though it specifically says changes can be made...

+1 I hate getting 1- and 2-shotted by kitters, but I know that SG is moneymaking for some and kits were purchased for that reason.

Everyone would join non-kit arenas and I bought 50$ on kits no one will join the kit arenas. No thanks! -1

The idea is that you'd be encouraged to use the kit arena if you actually had kits. Since you'd get more money for each kill you use in the kit arena, it's superior to the normal arenas. Yes, you won't be able to stomp over new players with your kits, but that's kind of the point; to make it so you still have an advantage by owning kits but not making SG totally unfair.

-1 there would be no point in owning kits if there were no advantages to them

I think your suggestion is very well thought out and makes a lot of sense. You didn't just pose a problem and sit back for someone else to fix. You posed a problem and made suggestions as to how to fix it. That's good on you!

I agree with you. I'm new to ECC and I love the whole concept. I haven't found a server that I enjoy so much as ECC. I always wanted to try SG. I usually stick to mining, selling/trading, etc. because I'm awful at pvp. Last night I tried SG for the first time and had fun, but got frustrated at being killed so easily. If your suggestion were implemented I'd be able to improve my pvp against like outfitted players and I'm sure my interest in SG would increase with time, possibly to the point of purchasing kits to play against kitted players for larger prizes as you suggested.

Excellent idea and more people should take your example of posing an issue AND posting suggested fixes.

There could be if they offered higher payout for kitted wins as Falcon suggested. That would keep the kitted players happy because they could win more $$ and could help raise more interest in SG for the non kitted because the playing field would be more level...possibly stearing the non kitted toward making donations for kits and playing at the "higher" level.

The suggestion is to change the system so that kitters still get an advantage while new players have the ability to enjoy sg yet you are -1ing it because there would be no advantage. In his example, kit games would get more ecd for kills and wins, so yes, you would have an advantage.

@oxwood2, I would ask that you reread the suggestion as you seem to have missed a pretty major part of it :p

Still wouldn't give the individual kitter the whole advantage. Because the kit games would be highly competitive, naturally skilled players would have the only chance of winning so it would be more stratified. If this were implemented, I would want no reward for non kit games so people don't see it as free easy money with no upfront.

That's why you would have to make it much more profitable to win a kitted game or make it much less profitable to win a non kitted game. I agree with you that you can't make it easy money for the non kit games. That's a perfectly valid thought. But I do think you need to give the non kit wins a little something to peak their interests. If you made it really profitable to win non kit games, then I agree with you that people would stay their and not worry about kit games. Give the non kits just enough to make it fun and want more (i.e. kit game wins).

You said "Because the kit games would be highly competitive, naturally skilled players would have the only chance of winning...". Are you meaning that that would be unfair? (I'm genuinely asking because I'm not sure exactly how you mean that. My country bumpkin education sometimes lets me down hahaha). If you mean that that's unfair then I feel the same way about the current setup. I, an non-kitted player, low ability pvp-er, will never win an SG game against kitted players. So therefore I have little incentive to ever play.

And please understand I'm only stating my opinion. I think debates/discussions like this can only improve ECC as long as people can debate/discuss appropriately. You have valid opinions, Ox. We just have differing opinions on this.

The whole point of kits is to have an advantage over others who don't. For example, having someone with kit cc going against a non kitters, the kitter should have an advantage. Or, in other words, a newer person buys the kit CC with all of his ECD, he wanted to gain an advantage over non kitters. However, with your suggestion, he would get destroyed by people with BFR, MIQ, etc. Sure, there is a bigger reward for playing in kit sg, but you are only considering the heavy, heavy kitters. What about the newbie with only kit CC, who originally wanted an advantage over non kitters who don't have one. It might even be a disadvantage going into a heavy kitters match, even with a kit. Overall, you have to be a heavy kitter to have an advantage over any other kitters. This isn't what kits are made for. -1

What about having an area for the heavy kitters, as you say, and the lower kits/non-kits?

Just try to find more balance, which is what I think this thread is trying to get at.
