It's cool that you are trying to help the server out, and you do have some very valid points that I totally agree with. But you have to think of it from my standpoint. Look at my signature - see how many kits I have? Honestly all this suggestion says to me is that im screwed. I've spent well over a 1,500,000 ECD on my kits. I don't think it's fair to just.. Take that away. You're suggestion is great, but it's not too original - there are a few suggestions out saying remove kits, but they all have the same problem which is what I stated here. I'd really love to have a kit free SG system, and if you can come up with a great idea of how to redeem what people have payed for, i'll be all for it.
I'm not quite sure what you mean, Miner. My suggestion isn't taking away kits or anything of the like. Kits would still have their place on ECC, just in a different fashion than they do now.
I'm sorry - i re-read you suggestion I see what you're saying. But i don't think a medal would be a big enough incentive to get people to buy kits.
I think the medal and increased rewards for winning matches would though. More importantly, SG would be fair for the regular players.
I am not quite clear on how you differentiate between heavy kitters and low kitters. This would not be possible; and to get an edge over other kit users skill is involved, as well as armor matchups, etc. I certainly only bought miq++ bfr++ and spy++ so I could get an edge over those who have more than 5 ++ kits, or even all of them, but skill is involved as well. This is why 3point wins so many sgs: he has skill and many kits.
I also believe that if you decided to separate the kit users from non-kit users; although it would be more balanced for players, right now we have only 100+ players and because of both non-kit users and kit users in the same game, we have full games. But, if we separate those now, we will have the minority with kits in one SG game and the majority (which is builders) in the rest.
There isn't a snowballs chance in the nether kits will be taken out but I agree with you falcon that kits are a major problem. However people did pay for them and they deserve the advantage it gives them. That is a worn out argument but one that has truth. I like the idea of a separation of the two with higher money for non-kitters. But there are people who will think this is unfair because they paid for kits to win and destroy non-kitters.
i've played only 2 games and both times i got rekt in like 1 minute after grace period. i get instakilled. if i had come on the server hoping for a good sg experience then i would've left straight away. now i came online to kill some time and see what economy is like so that isn't a problem for me. but playing sg on here has been a frustrating experience. and i can see people leaving just because of it. the amount of complaints against kits should speak for their own. instead of putting a small demographic (the kitters) in a priority position i think the larger demographic (the non-kitters) should be helped a little. right now anyone who plays sg thinks "this sucks" and probably would never attempt to even buy a kit or donate. if you let them have fun then eventually they will buy kits too. especially if having kits means you can make more money (bigger rewards in kit arenas) just my 2 cents
This is an economy server, not an Sg server. Also, that completely contradicts your own comment and all of these threads.
did you even read my post in the context of the suggestion? this suggestion is about having separate arenas. The kit arenas providing a larger prize, while non-kit arenas provide a low prize. if someone has fun with low prize no kit arenas, then they are more likely to buy kits and play in the large prize kit arenas. If someone joins and has no choice but to play SG against kitters then they'll just leave. Potential donator lost. the fact that it's an economy server doesn't matter [mod edit]. People come to play whatever they want, and if a thing you find fun is ruined by kits then they will leave without contributing to the server or economy. this is a loss. a rather large loss if you look at how many people join every day. (and how little stick around based on the online numbers) Next time just read the thing WITH context. and don't take [mod edit] out of context. because that's how you get [mod edit].
Ok well kits in sg cause undeniable issues of new players being pushed away from the server, and simply ignoring the problem doesn't solve anything. So no there's not a simple fix of not playing sg
I like the idea but also dislike it as well. Because people with buffer can still easily take out people with CC, i just dont feel like this is going to help people like me who's only kit is CC
Well its not like you would be losing anything much since you have only spent over $15 on ecc @greg45865734
