Even as someone who bought star crates I agree that it’s hurtinf the economy. No sale of them would be good enough.

 

Like still sell them but don’t have mega sales on them. Or atleast limit the sale to half whatever the sale is

 

Star crates are fine in my opinion, however as David states above they should not be included in sales that are 40/50%. We now have more star tools, weapons and armour than we do players.

 

Personally, I like star crates and the prices of them are decent (in my opinion). Star crates are there as an alternative to purchasing them with in-game money/netherstars just like we can purchase ECD or many other perks. Some people would rather use their own real money that they have earned to be able to help them get jobs done faster. So overall I think star crates should stay the same and the sales should be how they are now. However some players may not feel this way and just think its an easy way to make money but in all fairness that's what Economy is. This is only my opinion though :)

 

The only thing I like about star crates is the intensity when someone decides to open one. I'd just remove them altogether because I can't keep up with the star tool, exp or nstar market anymore.

What's the negative for star tool prices dropping? It allows other players to get them easier, and it fosters a more welcoming economy, instead of this massive learning curve currently in place.

 

I think the problem now is the fact that there's too many of them, and star tools have just lost their power on ECC. They used to be the things that you'd look up at, save up for day by day for but now there's so many of them that having a star tool isn't nearly as accomplishing.

 

I realistically don't see the need for star tools to be so idolized. I'm happy they're more common

 

Well I mean if we get any more star tools from these crates and the market is absolutely filled with star tools (meaning prices will likely drop with all the competition) then I don't see a hardcore economy server.

Obviously the prices wouldn't go too low, but I just don't think that you should have such an affordable (though risky) way to get star tools with irl money.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong here but don't people get startools to make money with them...? A 1.1 mill eff7 will net you the same amount of profit as a 300k eff7.

Unless you're referring to the people who collect startools, that's different. If you get a startool to use it for what it was intended to be used for them becoming cheaper wont really hurt.

 

It does also make the nstar market almost obsolete. (Apart from the casino which is luck based and gives you cosmetic items which the majority don't need)
I know we haven't been that keen on voting sites but its making people not vote. (Id assume the voting stats are well down on say a year ago. Yes thats not just because the nstar market is down the drain, but its part of the problem.)

Id agree saying the crates shouldn't be in sales. Or capped at like 10% sale.

Except that doesn't change anything... in practice to new players 700k is the same as 1m, which is an unreasonably high number. Its not even like new players are getting a chance at the tools out of the crates, the keys are pricey enough that you'll probably never see a new player buy one. Star Tools were one of the server's more stable markets, and the keys have destroyed that. It's terrible that one of the best markets on ECC is now completely decided purely by how much IRL cash a very small amount of players decide to spend.

You can say that the prices going down is a good thing, but the way I see it, we sold out ECC's #1 symbol of wealth.

 

I get the server needs money to stay open, but in the attempt to get that money, it’s destroyed the economy side of an economy server. The server is flooded with so much ecd now, prices of star tools are dropping, nstars are basically worthless now cause you can get a star tool out of crate cheaper than buying the nstars and getting one out of star shop. Better idea might be to sell nstars for IRL money and put the star keys in the star casino.

 

You're happy that hundreds of players investments in star tools over the years are being completely undermined so that the server can make a little cash? I'm incredulous. I've never been one to complain about pay to win in the 5 years I've been here but this is completely destroying the star tool economy which is an absolutely huge part of the server. An economy server shouldn't take actions that drastically change the economy and impacts players hard work without a great reason and $ from a few whales isn't it.

 

No, I'm happy star tools drop because it ruins new players experiences. I don't care about the servers return from them. New players can't compete with an item that is impossible to get without hundreds of hours of grinding. They exist on the shop to allow people to skip that grinding

 

I disagree, the value of the tools are still out of reach for a new player. And will still require hours of grinding.
