yea if they could make some kind of locking system like the chestes... then people wouldt be able to steal them

 

I wonder if there would be an easy way to code a way to /lock your horse. It makes sense. We make locked furnace rooms why not just make a locked horse. Not sure if this is possible but it seems like a pretty straightforward idea. If you /lock your horse no one can ride him, access his inventory, etc. Then there could be no way for anyone to take your horse. Then make the rules be just like chests, if you don't lock it too bad, you're out of luck.

 

Personally I agree with office I don't think ANY type of stealing should be acceptable. It is just telling these kids that certain types of theft is ok. If you steal from an unlocked house irl your defense can't be well it was unlocked they deserved it. I think that allowing any type of stealing like unlocked chests or horses or unsecured trades with no repercussions is letting thieves stay on the server to scam other people until they finally get caught with a bannable offense. To make it worse you can't even post who thieves are so I know not to trust them because supposedly that's a flame thread.

 

I agree that theft should not be punished depending on the circumstances. I was trying to show a way horse theft could be lessened without making a whole new set of rules and complications. Keeping it simple is key.

I voted no on this, purely because of the way it is phrased, "Should it be illegal?" of course it should, theft of any sort "should" be illegal. But as it stands there really is not a ton that can be done about this, nor should there be, personally I don't like the idea of horses on ECC, I think it was a waste of the devs time that could have been spent doing almost anything else, as for people that feel like they lost a lot in losing a horse, if 30k is enough to ruin your day you shouldn't be spending it on a horse. Fortunately over the coming weeks horse eggs are going to depress in value and flatten out, in my mind somewhere around 5k, which is hardly worth spending all your time going around stealing is it? So in the long run if you lost your horse it isn't fun, having anything stolen from you isn't fun, but there really isn't much you can do besides sit tight and make back your 30k. As for the plug-in that has been suggested earlier, it seems like it would fit nicely but I assume there is a good reason why it hasn't already been implemented. So that is the end of my rant.

 

Even if andrew km installs the plugin for horse locking, someone could put them on a lead and drag them away

Its a dam game and if your horse is out enough then you should lock it up. Horse stealing will never be made illegal because there is no way to make it illegal. so people with horses should lock em up tight!!!
