Added a new rule regarding large passive mob farms being prohibited:

1. Section 1, Clause 2 'Building Rules'

Clause 2.1 Disallowed Structures
There are several disallowed structures on this server, which are prohibited even in the wild:

• Blocks spelling out inappropriate language.
• Signs with defamatory and/or vulgar language.
• Cactus farms.
• Player traps in non-PvP worlds.
• Continuous redstone clocks are not allowed.
  • Temporary, small redstone clocks are fine so long as they are only used for a short period at a time.
• Farms that operate by means of Redstone Lamps or turning off the lights in order to break crops (aka. "Light farming")
• Large passive mob farms or any large collection of passive mobs are strictly forbidden.
  • Small farms (roughly 50 mobs or less) are allowed so long as they do not cause any server lag.
• Any buildings deemed inappropriate by staff.

 

The bottom line really is whether or not it causes server lag. Mobs spread out over a large space of say 2 towns for the example you are thinking of, is unlikely to cause significant server lag with the current numbers.

Our intention is that this thread will only be necessary for the near future. As I'm sure you have noticed, there have been a lot of changes recently (and we have more planned!) with the change of ownership and we felt it would be best to make the rule changes which come with them as open/visible as possible. Hopefully very soon we will have a set of rules which won't need changing that regularly :)

As to your question, that is completely fine. So long as the two accounts are different users they can interact in everyway that two accounts not on the same IP could.
