Just a quick reminder to everyone, the "down" build limit in all Lancaster towns is y=50. Your plots only extend down that far, and any space below that may be used for a future town project. Thanks!

Main thread was starting to look a little dated ... and I needed to add @LimeCini, the new co-Mayor of Lancaster. @Samiwarbler and I are still co-Mayors as well, just trying to lighten the workload of the main downtown. And check out the pictures of my big new pointless project! So much more fun than being a mayor...

 

This player has been warned by me multiple times that this behavior is unacceptable. He is being evicted from four Lancaster towns, as I specifically warned him I would do if it was repeated.

Please be forewarned, if you're the type of person who thinks this language is acceptable, that the owner of a town can evict anyone, at any time, for any reason, provided that he gives the appropriate required notice. That is to say, three days to remove one's things.

So, to follow up that rather negative message with something more positive, I went on a little sight-seeing trip today at the invitation of one of the original 40 residents of Lancaster, @Mission001. Well, right after I called him an assassin for cutting Phys's head off. I took pictures:

OK, so I have a question for anyone with Lancaster perms or chests in town.

We have an interact flag set to "deny." This is because we used to have a problem with a really heavy player population and theft from chests and LWC removals.... over time, however, main Lancaster town has become less residential, and I wonder if the flag is still necessary for two reasons:

1. It interferes with @gstoner3's trains.
2. It interferes with @KMaxwell's use of her shop in the mall as a repair/smelting outpost.

So, question: should we toggle the flag to "allow?" This would allow non-permholders to interact with chests, etc., in ways they can't now -- but ould not allow them to interact with a properly locked chests. Do we have anyone left that this is protecting? The LWC removal issue was rendered moot by a change in the way they are handled.

Thoughts?

 

I suspect that the consensus will be to go ahead and change it, actually. The flag dates back to when "Lancaster" was the only 200x200 town, and everyone lived there. Now it's the "downtown," and those who live there tend to be mostly players who want a condo in a tower, or who want to build condo towers themselves -- plus store owners. Those with massive quantities of stored materials have all bought their own towns nearby or elsewhere. I'm not sure it serves any purpose any more, and it had already been frustrating @gstoner3. Removing just the Lancaster flag but not any of the others would make the main trains run better and accommodate you as well...

So, let me ask the question again: can anyone think of a strong reason why we need to keep just the downtown Lancaster interact flag set to "deny?" Is anyone active actually keeping animals in Lancaster proper? My stable full of horses, which I still have for no earthly reason whatsoever, is just over the line in Eastcaster.

 

Incidentally, I just want to give a shout out to another new town, founded by some players I would MUCH rather have kept in Lancaster, who are doing fabulous things.

In the absence of any strong feelings to the contrary, the Interact flag will be toggled to "Allow" in Lancaster only.
