Original Lancaster Town Thread (TOWN CLOSED)

Fear not, I'm just taking a vacation. No towns for sale, just a caretaker government -- which I've been neglecting.

 

Two brief announcements: please congratulate the new co-Mayor of Lancaster itself, @Samiwarbler!

And I decided to get on tonight and do a little minor maintenance....

Might be time to draw a new map, too ... Turtleburg isn't on there.

 

Announcement: So, a banned player has been removed from the town, and while I was doing it, I looked up and thought, "wow, those two buildings are so nice, what a shame they're stuck behind that old town wall of mine.... and what am I going to do with this land here?"

@cyberjackh3, @kiraxo14, and @CSK7587, you guys are a great addition to the town. I hope you like the better view and the new park!

Note to semi-active players: we are no longer updating the "inactive exempt" list. Just too much work. We have plenty of land, and we're not out searching for players with 14 days gone to remove -- but if you are gone for longer than 14 days, your plot or condo MAY be cleared and resold.

I'm back more often than I have been, but I'm usually in /vanish these days. Really cuts down on the random players constantly asking for money.

Look for me in /ch heaven. And by the way, /ch join heaven.

 

Note to semi-inactive players: while @LimeCini is apparently channeling the spirits of a plague of angry locusts this weekend, we are not seeking out inactive players for her to destroy, no ....

 

Sorry to see you go, @weareman. I'm afraid there's no probate court in Lancaster, though, so there are no inheritances.

 

So our poor downtown was starting to get a little beat-up looking, and I finally had some time just to work on Lancaster:

The old town sign was just in the way ... but the Lancaster sign is a tradition. So I moved it higher, and added some color:


Under the new sign is the central train station for @gstoner3's railway system:


I even built a few pre-builts down in the SW corner of the main town, so if anyone is looking for one, point them that way:

 

So I was going through old screenshots while the server was down, and I found the folder of "before shots" of Lancaster. Like the little nub that I was, I thought you needed "before" as in "before and after" shots in order to file a grief report, so I went flying all over town and took pictures before I opened it up for plot sales. Thought you all might get a kick out of seeing the place before it got all busy:
