Can also be said for iPhones.
Just because you have heard some people complain about battery life, doesnt mean they all are.

Same can be said with Windows phones. ive heard from multiple people that their battery life sucks. So who is true? Probably both

 

The people that with enough sense to close their apps once they're finished with them are right about battery life.

 

Unsurprisingly you've just called the vast majority of people that own smart phones a fool, never mind the fact it being true. The Dunning-Kruger effect in action.

Like i said, all depends what you use the phone for.
And people who have drop off with their iphone4 battery life, im pretty sure its across the board for any 7 year old phone...just saying

Im sure a 7 year old Windows Laptop would also suffer battery draining just like a Apple Laptop would. Though my 12 year old one still works pretty quick if i didn't break the s key on it....

 

I think the Galaxy S8+ is by far the best phone. It's simply way ahead of the iPhone 7 in terms of specs, design, and capability. There are way better options out there for mobile phones than Apple.

However, Apple (in my opinion) is a better company in general because they make sure all of their products are premium-quality, have no problems (exploding batteries), tend to last longer (can't be permanently damaged software-wise), and are very simplistic so it's easy for people to get the hang of things.

Pretty much everything inside and out is run through several times before released to the public. While this can be a bad thing because it takes longer for new features to arrive, it can also be seen as good since you know all the features will work 100% without issue and are perfected as much as possible.

You rarely hear of Apple recalling devices due to bad manufacturing, and you never hear of programs out there that are able to permanently destroy your Apple device.

 

Because the OS updates themselves brick the phones.

 

I go with Microsoft PC, but apple for everything else

 

Apple for me. Purely from a usability perspective having an iPhone, iPad and MacBook (and an Apple TV, and old iPod nano or something) the integration just works. My MacBook boots from cold (not sleeping) to logged in - including me typing the password - in 17 seconds. While I use Windows at work previous updates trashed my home server because the older hardware could not cope (so that’s all Linux now and not relevant to this thread)

I find Microsoft software to be bloated (bloatware), our PCs at work take forever to load and then another forever to actually come to a state where they are usable. Integration is old fashioned rather than built in - I mean I can edit a note on the iPhone and it automatically updates on the MacBook. Yes you can do that with software add-ons but with the Apple line it’s built-in from scratch.

Mind you the prices are daft, and the iPhone 7 earbud thing is daft. I don’t have a 7 but I can’t imagine those bluetooth earbuds staying in my lugholes.

In a rather odd way I liken the pricing to Disney Florida - very expensive, but actually worth it. I am, however prepared to have my mind changed if Microsoft products ever come close to what I see and use on Apple. But NB I’m not a big game player, this is from a usability perspective only; nor do I build my own hardware any more - again not really an Apple thing. YMMV.

 

Coming from someone who had an iPhone 4 for around 3 and a half years, the battery life did suck. Part of that reason was due to the OS upgrades...as more and more features get added, general processes took more battery power.

Battery issues aside though, I swear to you that was the best phone Apple has made. That phone was durable as all hell, and even after I "broke" it it still turned on. In the time I had that one phone, one of my friends went through 4 different Androids.

My answer to the original question is pretty straightforward for me.

Phones = Apple.
Laptops = Apple.
Desktops = Windows/Linux.

Apple laptops, albeit underpowered for games make excellent productivity devices when paired with an iPhone. iCloud integration is a wonderful thing. Plus, if you want to do any sort of development or programming, Apple has a terminal built-in (it's Unix based) so it simplifies the processes a bit.

For desktops and gaming, Windows is really the only option you have because of the exclusivity of DirectX.

The main reason I got an iPhone was because I wanted to be able to contact all my friends, all the time. :D so I can contact my sisters (who have iPods) and Samsungs and windows phones. Other than that, that was really the reason I got an iPhone.

Plus, there both computers, both need more or less the same basic things, i mean, it's hard not to copy.

Unless you want to remove everything from the outside of the computer and the phone, and charge another 30 bucks for an adapter
