Not sure if its supposed to be this way but fishing recently has been only 6 exp every cast and l3 magic rod says triple exp so that would mean its set at 2 exp every catch but the fishingtable guide for ecc says various levels of exp to be gained as mcmmo levels increase and just want clarification as to whether this is a bug or set like that on purpose
I also noticed this while fishing. L3 magic rods are supposed to give "TRIPLE EXP" while fishing. Vanilla fishing gives 1-6 experience per catch (https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Fishing), so shouldn't fishing with an L3 magic rod give 3-18 experience? I obtained my L3 magic rod on Sunday and noticed this issue, however I don't know if it just started being an issue on Sunday or long before.
Exp orbs from fishing has always been consistent and does not increase with mcmmo level. As for the question regarding the exp drop on magic rods. The L1 rod drops 2exp every catch, the L2 and L3 which offer triple do indeed drop 6exp every catch. It is not based on vanilla 1-6exp rates. From my tests, L2 and L3 earn 6exp every time, regardless of mcmmo level. This is how it should be working.
thanks for answering and clearing it up but you should fix the fishing 101 for ecc cause on there it says leveling up mcmmo would increase xp gain every 200 level mcmmo increase
I actually do not know what your talking about. Can you provide a link? This sounds like a player-made fishing guide, which while useful do run the risk for providing inaccurate information on occasion or it could be outdated, a link would help.

I had tried looking for a more recent update to the fishing xp to see if it changed anywhere along the years but was only able to see the fishing 101 provide information about xp which is why i made this forum post to clear up any misinformation but thanks again for clearing it up
Yeah that is very outdated, its from 2014 so I'm not surprised if the info there isn't relevant anymore. In addition to just Minecraft changing so much over the last 8-9 years mcmmo has also changed massively. I'm glad we got it cleared up
Fishing works as it should. There are no experience issues with fishing nor any of our rods, magic or not. @ClarinetPhoenix will update the wiki regarding fishing where needed.

I've added to the Magic Rods the amount of exp each catch drops. Star Rod also now mentions a 1 - 6 exp per catch as it does vary.
