No. Any of the top players will tell you lottery is NOT the best way to make money. Take Joseph for example, he spent 1.6 mil on the crazy lotto yesterday and you how much he won? 0. Lotto is such a random thing no one can use it to make all their money.

 

He is not talking about exploiting the player market in a rule abiding way... He is talking about exploiting server prices. There is a big difference, and it makes sense for this server. Sure, this server is not like the real life economy, but hey, it is in a game and it is the closest you will ever get in Minecraft. So stop comparing ECC to the RL economy, and deal with the ECC economy. The fact is that for this complex system you need rules. Just like there is rules on Business and the stock market.

 

I don't know whether this is helpful or not, but what I got from this thread is that farming (or another simple way to make money) is required to build up enough money to then use that to invest in some money making trick that gives people tons of money. I suggest watching the super-rich players in game and on the forums to see if they advertise anything or make any money making thread. I hope this helps :)

Farm/w.e Till One mil. Buy a Melon Sword and Buy two Eff7 Pick's. Rent the melon sword out and the Pick for incredible cheap prices - 10k/2h - Make 10k off an hour of renting, 30k off of mining and then invest the remaining 500K on a good spawnshop. Sell stuff for a profit of 20k at the end of the day. Advertise your spawnshops and Tools/Perms w/e this will give you a huge profit at the end of the day, if you keep doing it. There are a lot of variables to it and a lot of people do it differently, it's pretty easy really. Commitment to getting to one million first is the hard part.

It has nothing special to it, just that most people with a lot of money like to show it off to the ones who are poorer.

And don't forget the price is what you set it at.

 

If you want to do it a popular way the key is a combination of lots.

SpawnShop
eff7 pick
Melon Sword Renting
Extcommands+ stuff

The person with all that could probably take a income of 30k+ an hour

Eff7 pick = 15k
Melon Sword renting = 7k
Extcommands+ stuff = 2/3k
Spawnshop = Depends maybe 5-20k

 

You won't have 500k left after buying a melon sword and two eff 7's. You will spend 990k on just the two picks.


Anyway, here's my two cents.

Quit being lazy. Simple as that. You can make at least 14k an hour pumpkin farming I believe. With fly or speed pots of course. If you do not have fly, go mining.

 

Mining and farming have nothing to do with it. And really, I dislike farming, and mining is still, a bit tiring. There are other ways of making money.

 

Sorry m8, I meant to say that you should get money from Renting your tools and farming at the same time (or mining)

Could be, somehow I expected a bit more of a creative way of doing it, maybe it's just setting your priorities in the right spot.

And everything clicks, except for one small thing. If everyone did what I said above, it wouldn't be ruined by everyone doing it. People have said several times, if everyone did it, it would be ruined, but if everyone rents tools/farms/sells plots then it wouldn't be ruined...

Alarah jakeyray18 I wasn't trying to be offensive, I just found it funny iStomp had the strategy all along. I won't post anything about it again. And as for scamming, I have never scammed but have been scammed 450k with no refund.. So I don't think I would be the one trying to promote it... Never the less, I will not post anything like it again and sorry for the trouble!

 

I have made money at a rate of 30k to 50k per hour by trading with villagers. Some tips:

Trading the last (rightmost) trade and then leaving the trade interface has a chance of unlocking a new trade, AND it will restore all deactivated trades.

Villager eggs are sold near mining world spawn, and will only work in the mining world.

Villagers can be bred, and they do not get butchered.

That should be enough info.
