That was pretty much what I was thinking, but maybe extended it to the /mail delete Jdawger too

Hunter_Greyback BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️Overall, a lot of these versions of a command would be effective as long as it serves its purpose.

You got five mails on the same day, but absolutely keep one of them? Bad luck.
Date timestamps are nice, but not that useful for deleting. Personally, I like the suggestion that included a separate index number.
These are the exact reasons why I support the ISO format... however, I am not sure whether everyone recognizes the YYYY-MM-DD format immediately if they didn't know it before or are not used to it.-

Even when I recognize the format, I still have to doublecheck because some people use the dashes but don't adhere to the YYYY-MM-DD, format. I've seen plenty of cases where people did YYYY-DD-MM. That's why I proposed a 'DD MMM YYYY' format (ex: 11 jun 2016), since it's completely unambiguous.

Expipiplusone BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Tycoon ⚜️⚜️⚜️ Premium UpgradeI personally don't like the month text format, but I see your point.
While I agree that more commands available would make the tool more versatile, I'm afraid that every specific added would increment the time to implement it (both for planning and for writing the code) exponentially. Probably the fastest implementation would be the minimal, i.e. to just include the progressive number and the timestamp in the messages shown by /mail read command, and then implement the /mail delete <N> command (and these two alone would require some time, I guess).-

Expipiplusone BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Tycoon ⚜️⚜️⚜️ Premium UpgradeThe reason why I don't like the text format is not aesthetic, but exquisitely practical: numbers are international, while words are not.
On a specifically English speaking server, though, this could be a minor issue if compared to the amount of people possibly not understanding a slightly less common standard, and that is indeed the reason why I conceded to kuke's remark.
But there's also a second big practical reason why I like the ISO 8601 format: sorting strings consisting of ISO 8601 dates is straightforward, due to the fact that it's a Big Endian format; in any other format the order of the strings would not match the order of the dates: and this is the very reason why the filenames of screenshots taken on MC are in that format indeed. Which raises an obvious consideration: do we really think that someone playing on ECC could possibly not understand the ISO 8601 format, despite the fact that it's already used in timestamps all over here? Now that I think about it, I'm not so sure that remark was that valid in the first place. -

Great idea and easy to implement since it is only 1 command. I think assigning each piece of mail an index number would work fine for this purpose.
[1] Hi
[2] Give me your bal pls
[3] Thanks for your 10k!
/mail delete 2

This would work well.-

Wouldn't you want to see the date? More like this:

Expipiplusone BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Tycoon ⚜️⚜️⚜️ Premium UpgradeMaybe I misunderstood your reasoning, but you can't delete messages one at a time; I mean, yes you can, but only if you have exactly one message: but then, if you want to keep that particular good message, you won't delete it and next time you want to delete a bad message, the bad message is going to be the second one, not the only one, and therefore you can't delete just that one.
