I also understand that Shotgun wished to post helpful information. And his information to point out the potential problems with duping is noble. However, ECC is a VERY solid server and the staff on ECC are extremely good at watching out for such abuses. For instance, there was the bug where people could give themselves free experience that was caught fairly quickly and did result in a rollback and banishments. From what I have seen in my 7 months on this server, it is an extremely solidly run server.

Also, there are actually better indicators that duping is occurring. One of the best indicators is dramatic price drops in an item. This was actually the case with the experience fiasco a few weeks ago. I didn't realize it until after I found out they were rolling back due to the abuse. But, when I heard about the rollback, I did realize that experience was dropping in price like a star orbiting a black hole. People were so flush with experience they couldn't sell it fast enough to get the money they wanted and it was dropping very fast because the supply was way more than the demand and people were fighting each other to sell their ill-gotten gains. Even if there is only a small number of dupers, this psychological need to launder the ill-gotten gain will cause severe priced drops in whatever it is that is being duped. And when that is identified, the databases will be used to easily track the money, probably more easily than the FBI tracking the money of a criminal organization. A simple SQL query will most definitely shine the light on those who may dupe.

Shotgun, you can be assured that if someone thinks there is duping, they will report it, because the rewards for turning someone in far outweigh any potential benefit. And if you find a duping bug, you can be reassured that you to will be listened to and reward for reporting it. Yes, this is a problem on other servers, but not really a problem on ECC.

 

well i got 2 stacks of lapis blocks and 240 diamond i clearly dont know how to hack :D and i earned those myself

 

I was mining and found a stack of diamond ore, I spent 3 hours which I clearly didn't hack if I don't know how. I don't see a point in hack, meaning it is only a game. I still get mad of it, like yesterday when I did in lava with protection IV armour and a sharpness IV fire II knockback II sword, there got me really mad. Luckily I HAD money to enchant and every thing I enchanted was almost protection IV. That also can mean that there can be lots of protection IV armour, you just do a lot of enchanting.
