We recently had a podcast where we turned #noinfo into #someinfo.
I'm now going to try and summarize what was discussed in the podcast in a quick news thread as well as add some extra information. Keep in mind I am stating everything short and to the point, so that most people understand the issues and solutions. #moreinfo news post will come within a few weeks once we finalize some of this and adjust it. (Remember, we are not done yet.)
Firstly, 1.13 - 1.13.x and it's problems.
1.13+ has brought on a plethora of problems. The biggest problem we face is the map's conversion. Converting a 1.12.2 map to 1.13+ (due to all the internal changes Mojang has done), has been proven to result in a major amount of issues. Corrupted chunks, missing blocks, empty chests, and much more, all of which you can find bug reports for on Mojang's official tracker. And when dealing with maps of our size (30,000x30,000) the problems will be endless. Users will lose blocks, chest contents and see random corrupted chunks in their cities. It will be endless crying and begging for help/support, something that will ultimately end with chaos.
However, this is just in the case of converting a 1.12.2 map. Our maps on EcoCityCraft, were generated around 1.4, and that's not all, they have already gone through a conversion back when Mojang changed the internal code long ago. Converting two 30,000x30,000 maps all the way back from around 1.4, which were already converted once, to 1.13+ is something that we've verified with several large developers, some of whom deal with Spigot, will absolutely always come with major problems. The chances of proper conversion are near none. The task is "convert a 1.4 already converted map from old code, to new code yet again, jumping over a dozen Minecraft versions". Oh, and do it flawlessly, ok, thanks. Lol some people's expectations.
Moving forward, maps are not our...

The /sell command has been permanently disabled on the main server. Announcement coming next week. We had a good run /sell hand on main. This is to prevent destruction of towns and hoarding money on forum bank due to current rumors Announcement soon. (And yes there are some who can destroy full vaults and hoard 100-200+ million, won't happen.)
You can still make money using SkyBlock's /isr command and the VMR theme. Main information will come within a week or so. Sorry no leaks, and no use listening to people's rumors, I can assure you I'm the only one who knows what the announcement is.

Hello all,
Since 1.13 is an absolutely monstrous update, there will have to be changes on ECC to accommodate for it.
Current status
Currently, we've got all our custom plugins staged and ready to be tested on 1.13-pre7. This took over 3k lines of code, and an absolutely immense amount of time to change the logic around. This means that when all the other plugins we use are updated, we can start testing and experimenting with what needs to be patched.
Spigot recommends that servers wait for all their plugins to update before launching production:
Because of the volatility of this update, I've had to feature and bug lock the entire network until 1.13 is launched. The reason behind this is that developing two separate versions, and then merging them together when 1.13 is launched is immense work. It's simply not worth the amount of time it'd require.
With that status update out of the way. Now onto the meat and potatoes.
Features/Systems Removed
Since 1.13 completely removes the "item id" system in minecraft, there unfortunately has been a few casualties.
SG has too much of a codebase dependant on the old system to be updated. The amount of work spent on the rest of the plugins is about half the amount of work needed for SG if it were to be updated.
SG, come 1.13 will be removed from the main server.
Now, before everyone panics. Your kits that you bought will be transferred into KitPVP in some way. We don't know how yet, but they will be compensated in some form.
Trade signs are the next casualty, but only partially. As announced here:...

As you may already know, Mojang intends to release 1.13 on July 18th. As andrewkm has stated in the ECC Discord #news channel, ECC will not be 1.13 compatible for a few weeks.
You have to use Minecraft 1.12.2 to connect to ECC. If you have already updated to 1.13, you will need to create a 1.12.2 profile to join the server.
If you are unsure how to create a 1.12.2 profile, you can use one of the following tutorials depending on your Minecraft launcher version:
Once the server is ready for 1.13 you will be informed via the forum news section.
