  • While client-side logs are not valid for evidence on EcoCityCraft it is still useful to know how to access them in-case you need to refer to past chat activity for your own purposes.

    Windows(top)

    Windows: Finding your client logs.(top)

    First you need to access your .minecraft folder.
    This can be done via your File Explorer with the following steps:
    Local Disk --> Users --> Your User Account(Windows account name) --> AppData --> Roaming --> .minecraft.

    Alternatively you can also use the shortcut.
    Press Windows + R (This opens the Windows Run application).
    Type in %appdata% in the field(as shown below).
    Click "OK"

    This will open your AppData\Roaming folder, it should look like this;

    Open your .minecraft folder.
    Inside you will find a folder called "logs".

    Windows: Viewing your client logs.(top)

    Now that you know where to find your log files, you need to be able to view them.
    You may find files in a .log GZ file format from various dates, you will need to extract the files using WinRAR or another application that can unzip files.

    The file will create a new file entry and change format to a LOG file format

    Once your log file is extracted you can view it using an application called Notepad++ or something similar.

    MacOS(top)

    MacOS: Finding your client logs(top)

    Click on the 'Finder' Application. It should be on the Task Bar.

    In the top right hand area, click 'Go'. Then click 'Go to Folder' in the drop down box.

    This will bring up a box to type in what folder you want to go to. Type: ~/Library/ then click 'Go'.

    Once you've clicked 'Go' your 'Library' should open. Look for the folder Labeled 'Application Support' and open that folder.

    The Application Support Folder contains your Minecraft folder. Open that.

    Open your folder labeled 'Logs'.

    MacOS: Viewing your client logs(top)

    Double clicking on any of them will first have it automatically changed from a .gz to a .log. At that point double clicking on the .log will bring up the 'Console' Application which an example will be posted below. You can use the 'Search' function to look through the log easier.
