EcoCityCraft's Town Ownership System
Who owns a town?
We divide ownership into two different categories. Each designation comes with their own set of legal rights/responsibilities. They are as follows:
  • Official Owner
    • This is the player who's name is on the town application. This is the only player staff will consider as the owner of the town.
  • Co-Owner
    • Added to the town but not official owner. Powers are defined by the owner of a town.
The Official Owner may sell their town, however the new owner is not treated as an "Official Owner" until they transfer the town to themselves. Until then, they are a Co-Owner with their rights expressed in the sales contract, and the Official Owner maintains the right to totally reclaim the town after 5 days if not transferred.

What are town transfers or claims?
There are currently two ways of changing the official owner of a town. A Town Transfer may be used, or a Tycoon+ may use an available Town Claim under any of the following circumstances:
  • Town Claim Only:
    • The owners of the town are offline for a minimum of 6 months.
    • The owners of the town are permanently banned from the server, and a period of 7 days has passed since the ban was issued.
  • Town Transfer or Town Claim:
    • The owners of the town have signed and consented to the sale/transfer of a town officially.
    • When a user transfers or claims a town, the former Official Owner loses all rights to the town and its ownership. The applicant becomes the Official Owner, and may apply for town features and have all the other benefits associated with being the Official Owner. This will not be reversed under any circumstances.
    • As stated above, if you recieve another user’s town without a Town Claim or Town Transfer, be wary that the Official Owner may contact a GameAdmin+ after 5 days of you recieving the town to have the town returned to them.
You can read more on our respective pages for the Town Claim Application and the Town Transfer Application.

Spawn Towns: Rules and Regulations
Spawn towns are defined as a front-row and second-row, 227x227 towns that directly face/border spawn (defined by the region named "spawn").
Any of the green squares are a Spawn town.

These are subject to their own set of rules and regulations, in addition to the above mentioned ones. These towns can risk being seized by the administration if found in violation. These rules are as follows:
  • There must be a good faith effort to actually build or do something - Your town must basically not be a totally flat wasteland or totally unbuilt whatsoever.
    • Spawn town owners have around 2 months or so to show a good faith attempt to utilize the town in a productive and aesthetic manner.
    • After the first month the town is examined, if any towns are found to be lacking, the owner(s) will be issued a notice.
      • Reviews will likely happen around the end of each month.
    • If after the second month passes, still no significant progress has been made. Administration will seize the town and auction it off.
      • Continuous progress on your spawn town will ensure you keep your town.
      • A spawn town that is nearly complete or fully complete then it is no longer subject to the restrictions.
    • Should a spawn town change official ownership the new owner will be given 2 months to make appropriate use of the town. This will begin from the next review period.
      • The town must be transferred to you via official means; such as a Town Claim, Town Transfer, or Administration auction.
      • If the town changes ownership in-between reviews, the town will not be reviewed until ample time as passed.
        • Example: If the town is sold and officially transferred on the 16th of Feb, it will not be reviewed for progress until the end of March instead of being immediately up for review at the end of Feb.
      • If the official owner is PermaBanned and the town lacks progression and goes used due to this, Administration may seize the town to auction it off. This will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
