Here are some Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Vanilla MineRun server. If you have a question that isn't answered here feel free to ask in-game and we will assist you!

What is VMR?
  • VMR stands for "Vanilla MineRun". It is primarily a game-mode to earn Prestiges for the Main Network.
  • VMR is a weekly competition to sell the themed items and achieve the most money that you can.
  • VMR alternatively offers a pokedex-style game called "VMR Booklet" that can be worked on week after week. Check out the page on the VMR Booklet for more information.
  • VMR resets every week, it is not a long-term vanilla gamemode.
  • Check out this wiki page for more information: Vanilla MineRun

How does VMR benefit me on the Main Network?
  • VMR currently offers two Prestiges.
  • You will need to earn 100 VMR points to earn a Prestige.
  • You can also complete the VMR Booklet to earn a prestige.
  • Additionally you can just compete every week for the Top 5 places for EcoDollar rewards.

How do I make money on VMR?
  • You need to sell the themed items of the week to make money. You can sell items with /sell.
  • Money can be made from VMR by placing in one of the Top 5 spots at the end of each week.
  • You cannot transfer any money made on the VMR server to other servers. Prize money is always awarded to your forum balance.

What is the ‘theme’? Where can I see what/when the theme is/changes.

  • A VMR Theme is a specific set of items that will have value. These are the items you collect/farm/produce to sell for the week in order to place in Top 5.
  • The theme will always be posted on the News, Announcements & Server Information
  • If you don't see it in the first few posts, just scroll down. The theme often doesn't change for several weeks. The thread will always be titled "VMR Theme Change & Rare Key Reset".

Why can’t I build?

  • The immediate area right at spawn is protected and you are also immune to damage. To build you will need to move at leas 500 blocks away from spawn.
    • You can use /getpos or your f3 to check your coordinate location. If the X or the Z coord is over 500 then you are out of the protected zone.

What is different about VMR from the Main Network?
  • Vanilla MineRun allows the use of all vanilla mechanics. This includes any vanilla means of automation.
    • Redstone however is limited, you cannot use super fast clocks or machines.
    • Pistons and other components that are normally disabled on Main Network are enabled on VMR.
  • Mob spawns are not reduced and do not stack, this is different from the Main Network and Skyblock servers.
  • Weather is enabled in VMR.
