Skyblock Frequently Asked Questions
This is not an overall guide to teach one how to play Skyblock. This is a guide and Frequently Asked Questions of the quirks and configurations of EcoCityCraft's Skyblock gamemode.

If you need help getting started with the actual Skyblock game it is suggested that you look up some tutorials on YouTube.

Frequently Asked Questions(top)

How does Skyblock benefit me on the Main Network?
  • You can benefit yourself on Main Network Servers from Skyblock by achieving Prestige. For more information on Prestige and how to earn it, check out the EcoCityCraft Prestige Levels page.
  • You can earn EcoDollars by selling Skyblock blocks and items. The most common way is to sell island levels in the form of blocks.
  • If you have ranks or feature packages, especially Skylegend or SkyGod on EcoCityCraft's Skyblock then you can sell kits and keys for EcoDollars.
How do I create an island?
  • Use the /is command and then select an island to start your Skyblock.
    • There are three types of starting islands.
      • Original
        • Classic Skyblock start.
      • Black Diamond
        • Challenging and more difficult Skyblock start.
      • Duo
        • Easier Skyblock start.
  • No matter which island you choose, the same set of resources will be available to you in the start chest.
    • Choosing the easier option will present you with additional resources, but provides a slight handicap in the form of less island levels to start with.
WARNING: Do not vote or use your kits or crate/vote keys before you create your island! Your inventory will be wiped upon island creation!

How do I invite my friends?

  • Use /is invite <username> to invite a user to join your island.
    • The target user must be online
    • The user must be on the same server as you.
WARNING: Joining an island will wipe your inventory!

How do I reset my island?
  • Use /is reset, then make sure to enter the confirmation command.
  • Before resetting, ask in chat for help with whatever you are stuck with. Lots of users are willing to help out so you can keep playing.
  • Your resets are limited to two resets a season, resets include /is reset or joining another user's island. If you are kicked from someone's island or you /is leave that will also use up a reset.
Remember to use /is help for other island commands. There are plenty that are useful for managing your island.

How do I level up my island?
  • Island levels are determined by the blocks placed on your island. Placing more blocks will give you more points.
  • Each block has its own value in points, this is known as "is value" can you can see this value by typing /is value <material_name> or when holding it.
  • Each island level is worth 250 points.

How do I make money?

  • Money is not typically your primary goal on Skyblock, producing blocks is.
  • Mob drops from various spawners/grinders will be your best bet for a consistent source of money.
  • Farm crops and cactus do not have any value. Only mob drops and blocks do.
  • Use the /sell hand command to sell items for money.

Where can I buy things/Where is the shop?
  • The Skyblock server shop is located at /warp shop. You will only find blocks for sale, not items.
  • You can also potentially find items for sale by other users at /warp market, or you can browse the public Skyblock islands for player shops with /is warps

Oops, I accidentally made obsidian when I was building my cobble generator. What do?

  • Right click your obsidian with your empty bucket, it will restore the lava back into the bucket.
  • If you need help building a proper cobblestone generator you can view one at both /warp spawn and /tutorial

Why does my Mob Farm/Spawner not work?
There are a variety of reasons it may not work;
  • If you are using a traditional dark room mob farm
    • Check to make sure you, your friends and any alts you are using are far enough away, hostile mobs will not spawn within 24 blocks of a player
    • On EcoCityCraft's Skyblock the larger established islands will usually take up a good deal of the mob spawns, rendering traditional dark room farms ineffective. This only becomes more of a thing as a season progresses.
      • To counteract this it has been determined that large dark platforms(more blocks = more spawning opportunities) and at least 24 blocks from any player will yield some spawns.
  • If you are using a spawner(block)
    • Be sure to check the conditions required for that mob to spawn. Spawners on EcoCityCraft do respect vanilla mob spawning conditions. Refer to the Minecraft Wiki for such conditions
