Not sure if this is a bug or not but when I was pulse mining today I ran into lava and to get rid of the lava put a bucket of water down in front of me; sorta above in front of me but nonetheless in front of me, when I did this it trapped me in a cobble block and I could see everything around me like when you would use x-ray. It did not harm me since I can't suffocate, so I was able to break out with my pick and tried it again and it worked. As an honest person I won't exploit this but wanted to give a heads up.

Being able to see through blocks by being inside of another is a bug with minecraft itself if I remember, and as long as you do not abuse this and use it to locate ores, you will be fine.
