World Edit was removed for various reasons (some stated and some not). I believe one of the major issues was lag. Taking the server down - or letting people deal with severe lag/lag very often - wasn't logical. As well, I think there were internal/plugin issues with it.

Once in a while Andrew has extremely short periods available for World Edits, but usually he's in a really good mood + they cost a lot. Doesn't happen too often.

 

nowadays there's enchantments that decrease the time it takes to dig stuff out, though. It makes a huge difference.
