This happened too and someone has died because of it, along with my star rod -_- I don't know how to solve this and I'm not very happy about it.

I, too, have been experiencing this. There are world chunks where the blocks are there, but not visible or where it's just empty space and I fall/move slowly in the non-existent chunk.
