Why I can't send chat messages?

    Everytime I enter a chat message, it says "Cannot send chat message"
    What is wrong?

    Check your multiplayer settings and make sure they are set to where you can chat. My guess, your on "Commands only"

    Also, moving this thread to Help/Support

    Thanks, it worked.

    Well, on the earlier versions of Minecraft which I played on, when I turned it to "Hide Chat" when I pressed T or /. Nothing would show up. So I didn't think I was on Commands only this time.
