I have been inactive for 2 weeks and I have came back to see that n stars have dropped in price. I have loads of them I wanted to sell but the price now is ridiculous. Why are the prices so low?

    Yeah...

Now's the time to be bullish. It's time to stock up on NStars.

The price will come back up, because the price cannot remain this low for long. There will soon be more demand for NStars when horses are more common and as the market changes.

With a price floor of $200, we're about as low as the market can go. Buy tons of NStars, and don't sell until prices are above $320 again, probably $350.

Investing in $220-$250 Nstars is like buying real life gold when it was at $900/ounce. It's not the price floor, but it's definitely got nowhere to go but up!

In fact, the floor is more likely to come up soon when horse demand drops. If the price floor comes up to $250 to promote voting, you're going to see an immediate guaranteed ROI with a completely unknown earnings potential. If melon swords come back in demand, your stockpile may skyrocket in value. If there's a new item that hits the Nstar shop that is in high demand, your stockpile may skyrocket in value.

tldr; Buy Nstars now, it's low risk and high reward

I hope so. I have collected around 200 Nstars over the last month as people would not buy them off me but only sell to me.

When horse eggs were added as an incentive to vote, NStars also came in; lots of them. Before horse eggs, they were going down, but now they are really going down due to the influx.

Unless a bunch of people start buying NStar stuff (maybe add more to the NStar shop to encourage people; I don't know) or suddenly users really want them (MSwords hype went down), their price will probably drop low and stabilize there. :/

The main reason, well I think so, is that the netherstars were primarily used to get melon swords in the netherstar shop (1000 nstars for a melon sword).

After a while came the melon price drop which dramatically reduced the advantage of a melon sword over a pumpkin axe, thus people have opted for a much cheaper way of farming. This means that there is less demand for the netherstars as they are not much use other than a few items. At $2/melonblock the prices for netherstars was $300-$350 and now at $1.75/block they are at $200-250.

As MoofinK said, the horse egg market has made people vote thus the netherstars have become less rare and more are in circulation in the market.
