Mentor: pooc12 and usernameofdeath How did they help?: i started around the summer of last year and I learned most of the things that I did. I mostly mined or farmed wheat. Later on, I wanted to buy a plot and pooc12 hit me up with a plot and learned more things from him. Irk why but I ended up quitting until late January and then usernameofdeath hit me up with a plot. Then I mined and farmed my way to resident (thank God for a fort 3 eff 4 unb 3 dpick). I look up to usernameofdeath and he has an amazing shop and a great nation. Then swatexpert45 and quefueve got me a plot in Newyork and I got enough money for mayor BUT I spent 90k on a town *facepalm* x10. shrinkwrap4me I think of this as a funny fail rather than something to be pissed about (in other words, id rather be friends instead of enemies.) But the lotto and a18greek18 helped me get my money back as well as mining. I forgot to tell about ventrilo and I got that as a resident I think. Now I'm running my own town Bordeaux and selling plots by the many. Friends: MattBrpQc,nickla3107, Dark_Tonitrus, Tdogg120 Vent buddies up there ^^ and it all started with a builder raid in mining world. Good times.
Everyone is welcome to post on the forums! No matter what rank, money, or status. I hope your having fun
My mentor was vengfulbacon When I was just a silly builder alone on this server, he took me in and gave me a free plot for free. He also gave me a set of regular diamond tools, which I thought at the time was super rare and amazing. He basically taught me how to E.C.C, and had he not helped me, I would have quit. To bacon!
Since someone already posted the name earlier in the thread I might as well say who it was and list everyone that I know helped me learn the server. Xacheiree was the first one to really teach me a lot of things about the server which I am glad about, however it was purrguin who I actually considered my mentor who taught me a few things but looking back was utterly useless in the scheme of thing but through him I met Skylexia who convinced me to get Moderator, so here we are now.
If by "convinced" you mean "yelled when you closed your mod app and insisted you post a new one and made you promise not to close it the next time around", I agree. My "mentor" and first best friend on the server was the always wonderful SynWannabe, whom I still consider to be my best friend today. I spent a long time on the server kinda sitting in the corner keeping to myself, but when I decided I was bored and wanted to try ventrilo Syn was the first person I really talked to and he was so nice and sweet that it got me over my ventrilo nerves and I became a regular. I also met up with Purrguin on ventrilo, and we know how that went, but through him I met my other mentor Tommy_t, another lovely individual I very much look up to and respect even though we don't chill as much anymore. I have other people I learned stuff from, such as sitomo, a really good friend whom on my first day as a moderator taught me how to compass under the PvP arena and then disarmed my compass (-.-), Joliver1998, who also very much helped me out as a new mod and is still a lovely person to be around when you can chase him down (and cuddle him), and Mardigan_The_Mad, who I can say was a real inspiration as an smod that really made me want to go further (though I'm still minorly upset about that one time he did a grief report and didn't ban the guy because he thought he could talk to him and the guy griefed me again >.<). And even though he and I didn't talk nearly as much as the others, I always enjoyed my conversations with tkick and learned a lot from him as well about the higher ranks, ethics, and staff standards, and he's another person I just overall look up to and respect his opinions and knowledge of all the things. :3
Since I got a mention or two in here, I feel like I should post. I was invited to the server personally by andrewkm, but I'm not really much of a serious ECC player, so I don't really have a ECC mentor. The closest would probably be kukelekuuk00 and Skylexia as they generally help me out whenever I need something ECC related. As for Essentials, Snowleo is probably the one responsible for getting me interested in coding on it, and helped me as I was getting used to the code base.
I guess if we're on other types of mentors, sir KHobbits here is also one of mine, but I really consider him more of a best friend. He's been helping me learn how to code and understand plugins and what makes ECC run, and I really look up to him as a knowledgeable entity for such things. He's also got me listening to music that I normally wouldn't obsessively listen to, which is kinda unrelated but I completely and totally blame him for 100%. kukelekuuk00 is also definitely another person I look up to as a dev/programmer type. :3 (But Kuke's kinda mean about it :|)
Who was my mentor you ask. It was Sitomo, When i was broke and nothing but my clothes on my back he let me farm his pumpkins for a week. He was a good guy to me and everyone
kukelekuuk00 not to me you're not... you big, sweet, fluffy cactus! *hugs* Although sometimes you're a thorn in my side! (pun intended! <3) I'd rather not sit here and type out everything to everyone who's ever been nice, helpful or inspiring... that would be @everyone. I can't make a simple list, there is no simple list. I've written this three times over, and I just can't possibly fit everyone in. I love all of ECC, some who are banned, some who left, and many who are still here. Thanks to everyone! <3
My mentor was _jamescraft When i joined, i was about to quit because noone would help me. He then told me to follow him. He let me live with him in his house, gave me access to all his stuff, and taught me EVERYTHING from commands to people to ranks to how to make money. When i became resident, i packed my things and left. He is still around, and we are still great friends. The house is not griefed, and i still have a home set there. I am very grateful for him because if he didn't pm me, i wouldn't be here today. <3
