I used to play on some server which had very harsh staff (if you got banned for whatever reason, you'd probably not get unbanned). In the middle of my experience on that server, I found EcoCityCraft on a minecraft-related forum/website. (I believe I searched 'economy server' on google). I played it and liked it, but I didn't really get the best start on it (I didn't find many ores while mining and the server went into donator mode 2 days after I joined). So, I stopped playing on it for a while just because of the mining-fail rage and because I was confused as to why I could not join the server when it was donator-only mode. So, I went back to the old server for a bit and got myself banned for one of the dumbest reasons (I reported a blatant hacker...). As I have said, there was no way that I could get unbanned from that server (thank god!!! I wouldn't be here!) After that, I was desperate for a server, so I remembered this one and crossed my fingers hoping that it wouldn't be donator only. It was full, but it was not donator only! So I waited for a spot and finally got in and started a real economy experience . Thanks everyone for making this server awesome!!! How in the world would've I been able to find another good economy server without this one??!!!?!!?
Eco city craft was tthe firrst server i played on minecraft Now i have learnt so much from ecc, i am boss
I had been playing single player survival Minecraft for a while 1.2_02 Beta-1.4 Beta or so. Not long later, my sister who hadn't been playing the game for too long started looking for a server to join and play on multiplayer. She found this one in April of 2011, and she had some fun on it for a few days to a week or so before she got mod. (There was no application process back then or anything, and mods were picked by Andrew himself. She was like one of the first mods. ) She told me about the server and got me to join, in which I joined the forums and got whitelisted through the application process (Yep, there was a section for whitelist applications on these forums... ) I played for a week or two, being completely lost on the seemingly infinite map with huge structures everywhere, especially around spawn, although I did have my own little home...that's when I learned that the map was going to be reset and a whole ton of changes were about to be made - a new spawn, a new map, all ranks reset, all cash reset, the whole economy changing as a whole from dirt being worth $5 to changing to $0.05, everything...the server was only in it's alpha stages after all. This was going to be the only time this would ever happen. That's when I actually consider myself having "joined". From that point, since everything was absolutely brand new, I considered myself to have just joined, starting with nothing, and actually being the 3rd resident ever on the servers due to my constant effort in attempting to be first. (1st if you count the 15 seconds or so I was the only one since Andrew did the applications top to bottom. ) The economy was hard back then, since nobody had any money. Having like 15k meant you were extremely rich. This was back when undertown was the only town and prospered greatly...okay, I'm going off topic now. >.> Ever since then, I had been playing actively for about a year and a half. As of recently, I've kind of disappeared. Who knows when I'll have the urge to come back again, but until then, I won't forget what it was like to first join or anything. I'll always remember that. <3 It is what kept me playing Minecraft for so long, even today I still play Minecraft a ton. (Although not as much.) By far Minecraft is the game that has kept me coming back the longest, and a bunch of that time was spent on ECC.
Oddly enough, I found ECC via minecraft-server-list.com, but you werent a number. I clicked on a server, saw your banner and thought you were them, and was directed here. If that ad wasnt there, I wouldnt be on ECC
I found ECC either by Google and a random place it was mentioned, or it was the official Minecraft forums, on a dead-ish thread (made by Andrew, I think). Basically, when I joined, ECC was 'nonexistent' and seemed to be no more than 5-15 "active" members, who all appeared to be somewhat close due to the teeny community. It was...not whitelist yet, or was it? I do not even know. All I know is that I joined the forum about 20 minutes before actually playing on the server. ...I do not have much of a story because I joined right before any real advertising happened. Week or two after joining is when ECC actually became alive. Kind of grew out of "helpless infant stage" to "learning to walk and talk." And as D0rc mentioned, I got Moderator not long after joining. Back then, the forum was pretty dead, but I was so active on it that Andrew decided I was a good candidate. xP At that time I very rarely spoke in-game... I was technically the "first" Moderator (and only one who didn't mess up and get demoted shortly after), but I was promoted with two or three others, and after Star and Michael. I think I was also the "first" SM excluding them. I miss the old days and the PIZZA AND DOME... and my snow house. And my log cabin. And Larsphee. ;___; ...D0rc is derp. "Seemingly endless map" back then was what, 1k x 1k? (-cough- IT FELT GIANT -cough-)
That's right - seemingly. Seemed huge enough to me. Also consider Minecraft had no sprinting or anything like that. Didn't help that I had to make my way around all the huge buildings in spawn and all that.
I should say my story too I bought minecraft 2 years ago! Some friends told me lets play on a server they knew! We played for about 1 month and they left! I stayed, helped the community, gave so much ideas that the half server was based on my ideas, the became a mod! Stayed as a mod for at least 1 year, then i got promoted as an event manager, not a mod in-game, i was picked to manage the image of the server and the websites (facebook, twitter all social stuff) , well they didnt want me as a mod cause i was helping the players the way too much and they sayed they wonted the players to stand alone... ( the fact that no mods was helping the players was sad for me ) Then i got bored of the event manager ( DOING EVENTS AND STUFF) so i asked the owner to get back my mod stats, but he told me people sayed i was the worst mod . IT WAS A LIE! ( i was the best mod AND THE ONLY good mod on the server) I got mad with him! ( He left on the army for a year) Cause he believed the lies of the co-owner didnt check the logs and didnt ask the people what happened when he left! So i left his team cause it was bad Then i wanted to play something new ( I have been asked to mod lots of server till then but i wanted survival) So i started searching on minecraftserverlist then i found ecocitycraft i was amazed from the #1 economy server i read the descriptions TO SUCCESS YOU NEED TO WORK HARD and i was like thats my server! I joined! Got mayor into 1 month And i still work hard! Then i learned that moderations plays without creative and stuff like those! And i sayed thats even better ... I can combine my love of helping with playing as survival
i used to play on servers they would come and go sometimes cheaking on servers eco is diffrent i talk about it with my bff i love it i love eco its like my main server i dont do server jumps anymor eco all the time!
I was searching for a good server to play on and i wanted on that involved money. So I searched "Best Minecraft server" and i found ECC! Now I'm completely addicted to it!
I found ecc on one of the voting websites, minecraftservers i think. I was just server hopping trying to find a good one, and i really liked ecc and have been playing for almost a year.
I found ECC on http://minecraft-server-list.com/ It was actually an accident that I got on EcoCityCraft xD. I was trying to join another server but joined the wrong one. Fortunately, I found myself that day playing ECC for like 4 hours. And now look at where I'm at on this server
Once upon a time, the wild Phiphiphi had returned to minecraft. However, he was not content with Singleplayer. He made a brave chance and wandered into the dark forest of servers. He looked up and down and every which way. He waded through pools of Faction and trudged through the Sands of Freebuild. After days of looking, he stumbled across a old book titled "Ecocitycraft" . He opened the book to the wonder of ECC, and played for hours. As he fell asleep, he smiled to himself, for he had finally found a place to settle down. The End
I found it on one of the votes when i looked at the top and thought it was good and 9 days ago it was my 1st anniversary on ECC and ECC is acting in my life as more of a addiction then a server
