Whats with the donators only thing??!!

Why does that mean?

 

Please, please, at least use proper grammar if you're trying to bash the server. Almost nobody donates
for ingame money anymore unless it is in large amounts, most people buy features or features for other
people. Anyway, people buy features/Ecc$ because they want to enhance their experience on the server.
If you don't want to suppourt the server and help andrew pay the $750+ a month server/ventrilo/website bills, than
you shouldn't get angry and bash the server when you can't get on because there is lag.

 

Well it would help if next time the server needed a temporary reduction of players, he just made the limit 80 instead of donators only. Just sayin'.....

 

We were at like a player cap of 100. Currently, we have 100-ish people on the server. That is still a lot for the server to handle considering it has been laggy this past day.

 

I think that the reaction to my comments focused primarily on the cost issue, that was not my intent. My comment was primarily directed at the structure and optimization of the server. I would just like to see more up time and less issues with the platform. Most of my commentary was focused on reducing complexity to achieve more fun for all.

 

Andrew has a job and runs the server.... when do you sleep Andrew?

 

What is sleep?

 

When we say lag we mean Server lag, you probably mean FPS lag, two completely different things. Server lag causes things like blocks not breaking, or you to be shot back while trying to walk forward, this is caused by the server machine lagging or a problem with client-server synchronization. FPS lag is completely client-side and is when the game looks shuddery or jittery, this only affects the user and not the server. I myself only lag when I am being stupid with optifine and big texture packs.

 

The issues that are currently happening have everything to do with the game itself and not the server or plugins. Developers are currently looking for ways to fix the issues (I know because I'm doing the same), however, fixing these issues take time. Until these issues are figured out, there will be a lot of work, testing, etc. being done to fix it.

The problem I see here is that people are misunderstanding why we do donation only at times. Any time it's ever been donators only is when the server has an issue that needs to be fixed. It isn't an exclusive party or anything like that. The server operates better (not performance wise but gameplay wise) when everyone is on. Donators only is just to reduce the lag and also because when new people come to the server, new players are created causing new logs. Doesn't help when you're trying to fix the server.
