I personally think iOS is much better. There are about 5 times as many apps on iOS (500,000 on iOS, 100,000 on Android) and iOS's apps are much better quality because apple has to approve every single app submitted. Google accepts everything. Also, you can easily get a virus on an Android, but iOS is nearly virus proof. But anyway, just vote for whatever OS you like better.

What proof do you have that android dosent approve apps? And do you have any proof that android gets a lot more viruses and iphones dont get any?

Why I prefer android over iOS:
Android requires you to have a Java IDE*, which is not a problem, IntelliJ works great and the you don't have to pay to distribute your apps.
iOS' tools to develope apps are free, but they require you to PAY to become an apple developer, distribute and test your apps on the iPad/iPhone/iPod ($99 a year)
Android is opensource.
iOS is not.
Android has a bad UI** and could use a great deal of improvement. (this makes apps look worse on android than on iOS)
iOS has a good UI**
Android has flash.
iOS doesn't have flash. (they have a fairly good reason, but it's still a con)
Android has a wider range of usability, you can port it to all kinds of devices. (OUYA is a good example.)
iOS is limited to the iPad/iPod/iPhone
Now for unbiased facts.
Batteries:
iOS: If your battery dies on an iOS device then you have to send it to apple to get it fixed.
Android: just buy a replacement when it dies.
Android wins.
Jailbreaking:
Android: Many Androids comes with an option to Jailbreak it from its service provider.
iOS: you have to do it yourself with the risk of your iDevice not waking up afterwards.
Android wins.
Internal memory:
Android: Limited internal memory. This is a big headache because apart from photos and media content, the default memory is the already limited internal memory. Lots of apps in the internal memory will eventually make your phone less ‘smart’.
iOS: Good internal memory and you have choice of different internal memory sizes.
iOS wins.
External memory:
Android: Yes. External SD card can be inserted to store photos, media, etc. B
iOS: No external expandable memory. But the internal memory by itself is huge.
Android wins. (sortof)
Dictionary:
Android: Google Voice integration and user editable dictionary. Which means more flexibility and ease of use.
iOS: Artificial Intelligence type dictionary. iPhone learns as you type. So if you have the habit of typing a wrong spelling often, iPhone will learn that word and it is ‘almost’ reset of dictionary to make iPhone forget it.
Android wins.
Mail:
Android: Separate Apps for Gmail and other mail. Other mail app is definitely given the second-class treatment. There is limited options with mail editing and other regular stuff with the client mail application. No complaints with respect to Gmail app
iOS: one e-mail app, a good one.
iOS wins.
Aesthetics:
Android: Like I said earlier, the UI is crap, therefore the apps look worse.
iOS: Great UI, therefore better looking apps.
iOS wins.
File transfer/Syncing:
Android: Android has the ‘plug and transfer’ feature by which you can transfer files between Android phone and your laptop just as if it were an external storage device.
iOS: iTunes sync model – just like iPods. This means having a separate sync folder in your laptop and transferring media content to that folder before starting up the sync.
Android wins.
Hardware designs/buttons:
Android: buttons do different things depending on the app, therefore it can be confusing.
iOS: one button, always does the same.
iOS wins.
Text editing:
Android: cut/copy/paste all work differently in different apps.
iOS: cut/copy/paste work the same in all apps.
iOS wins.
Charger:
Android: Micro USB charger which is something that is readily available in the market. any Micro USB charger will do.
iOS: Apple charger – though it is available in the market in abundance, it's a unique cable.
Android wins.
OS upgrading:
Android: not possible
iOS: iPhone can support at least one major OS Update before Apple launches a non-compatible or higher configuration OS.
iOS wins
6 wins for android.
6 for iOS.
I would have to say that they are equals and it's all about preferences, if google would just improve their API then they would kick apple's asses, but I guess we'll wait and see :b
*IDE = Integrated Development Environment
**UI = User Interface
***API = Application Programming Interface -

Android is just like a computer, don't install random shit or you will get a virus.
With iPhone it's Don't install random shit when jailbroken or you will get a virus.
Same with windows or any other PC OS -
Kuke, I want to quote two of those things (which you would have had to google, and not for long) and completely correct them, giving iOS two more than Android or making the two equal and neither getting a "point" higher...
Unless you've owned both a NEW Android and a NEW iPhone, you cannot compare the two. Just sayin'. :l -

I didn't look at external things besides the things ALL the iOS/android devices have. -

Adobe stopped developing flash on mobile devices, but most android OSs still have flash
Youtube has started with html5.
flash is a horrid memory/cpu hog. -
andrewlstephan BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️
There is actually a web browser for iOS that allows videos/pictures/etc. requiring flash to work properly, but I forget what it's called :|
Anyway, here's my opinion:
If you are looking for open source, Android is the way to go like Kuke said. However, if you are looking for simplicity and ease-of-use, iOS is the way to go. I personally like iOS better. It is easy to learn and use - almost anybody can figure it out. I have tried Android Honeycomb on a Motorola tablet. I could figure things out on it, but it was extremely confusing and hard to use. I personally like iOS better. We have an iPad 3, and it is easy to use, very user friendly, and the graphics are amazing with most apps being HD and extremely clear on the retina display.
Another thing I want to mention is the quality of the product the OS is on. With iOS, (most will agree) that Apple makes quality products, and iOS is only available on their products. However, with Android, it can be on a nice Samsung, Motorola, etc. product, or on a piece of junk that isn't made well, and will have issues.
Summing this all up, my vote is iOS! :) -

Android is soo bad imo.
Ios ftw! Jailbroken iPod rocks hard! -
Weatherfreak1 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Resident ⚒️
i honestly think that iOS is better than android,
Reason 1: you can backup all your things on a computer with iTunes or iCloud
Reason 2: they can locate a missing iOS device with an app (it has to either have the app or have iCloud turned on)
Reason 3: EXTREMLY CONFIGREABLE!!!! -
