Mm... That Poll was extremely bias you know why?... when you made that poll you didn't tell many users about it, only the ones you KNEW would vote for it. You didn't have someone on the other side of the fence arguing look at this poll. I've started advertising straight down the middle in global for all to see and the votes are nearly matched. So this tells me you pretty much had your side of the argument and no team debating against you. As for your whole argument I've seen logic in it. "I want pistons in my 200x200 area to make some cool traps and doors! They should be enabled for the whole server because i want them in my town!" <--[Sarcasm] You wanted weather for your town and your town only. If you hadn't made your town like this would you still care so much about it getting Turned Off? We all have to suffer the effects of rain and snow because you want snow in your 200x200 town.
I've never seen anybody in game say anything about having issues with weather causing lag. Screenshots of people saying it? People have complained about lag before on the server when there was other problems either on Minecraft's end or the server's end, why not complain about this lag? I rarely see people complain. If people are actually having problems with lag, then so be it, there will be a user here and there who has lag issues, but unless it's a frequent problem, I doubt things will be changed.
Well i decided to make a snow town after weather was enabled not after, so it's not just for her own sake. Also that old poll had 40 votes, that's about the same amount of people who were active at that time so it's not right to call it biased wolvie.
I have had users bring it up in vent with me before, and I have seen it in chat. If you want a screen shot then sit on the computer all day and watch for it.
...I don't talk to people much at all. It is extremely far away from being biased, Wolvie. And I had put a link in my Ventrilo status a few times for people to look, and I did mention it in-game a couple times. Note that I rarely get on Ventrilo and rarely talk in Global much, let alone Local or private chats. I'm a very shy and "anti-social" person; it is not my fault if people voted for weather simply because they seem to like me. :/ I cannot control that. I did not want it only for my town. Prior to the thread and poll, I saw people in-game wanting weather throughout a couple months. When weather was around for Halloween, people adored it and wanted more - that is when Andrew said a petition could be made. I can point out several people who want snow. It is not at all just me. Weather gets turned off? I'd be highly upset that my town can't be what I had wanted it to be for a long time, but I won't go whining about it and get used to it in a week. I'm creative enough to come up with another idea. It just seems kind of silly to see all weather taken out because about 2 out of 10 people overall don't like the sound and look of rain. :/ I know some people lag, but I rarely see anyone complain when I do spend lots of time in-game.. :/

Funny this... I believe that only 2-10 people wanted weather, the rest just followed because u had 20+ votes on one side. This times different theirs people opposing your opinion. If 2-10 people can get weather enabled I'm sure its possible to get 2-10 people who want it disabled, to get it disabled. As for 2-10 people wanting it disabled I don't see your 40 votes this time, which means theirs bound to be some truth in what I've been saying or you'd have your 40 votes again already. Moofink is totally correct, and on this biased thing, it was not at all. During the poll time it was pretty much the only thing being talked about and voted on for atleast 3 days. Unless someone did not go on the forums for 3 days they would have known about this.
You cant Really get 40 votes in an hour or more. That post was seen for a couple of days. And some users leave. Give this thread some time then we will see.
I'm also going to say this. What we need is a poll where the choices are "Does weather cause you lag/problems?" And have a yes or no. In a thread that is not discussing it. Right now, some votes could be people who simply agree with one side or the other. The main part of discussion right now is how many users like it/have issues from it. If not that many users really have problems, or if a lot do, then we need a new poll where people aren't voting for the side they agree with, but rather whether they have problems or not with lag/other issues in game.
This poll is about if users want to have weather on or not. Not if there is an issue caused by it. That point was brought up, because, some of the users who do not want weather have issues caused by weather.
I honestly don't want to get in the middle of this. I want weather in my town, snow and whatever.. I am also thinking of makeing a giant ice skating rink town which I want in a SNOW biome that snows.
People are voting for if they want weather on or off. People could vote based on who they agree with in this thread. Right now, how many people agree/disagree isn't what we need to know. What we need to know how many people lag because of weather/don't like weather. Reason being, is that what we are discussing is how many users don't like weather or have problems with it. Only way to settle the argument since we each are saying what we think and not agreeing with each other is to have the real statistics, not what we assume are the statistics.
The very first post of the poll states what the poll is about. If you want weather turned on, or off. If you want a statistics poll, then start one.
People don't vote to be in the majority. With weather, people vote on if they want it or not, because of the issues it can bring. My thread was up for a while, people had time to think about it. Comparing my poll results to this poll is stupid, as it hasn't been up long. Also, having weather on is still winning right now. :/ Now people have opinions about not wanting weather because they have now experienced it. When you don't have it, you want it because you know you want it or want to see if you want it. Now that people have had it, a few have decided they don't like it too much, or realized now that it causes issues when they thought it wouldn't. We have new users now, too - opinions are completely different from what weather was added and to this point in time. I kind of want a poll to see how many people get lag or other actual issues in-game with weather. If weather isn't causing you any issues and you simply hate the sound or look of it and are too "lazy" to spend a short time to get something to hide it, then... It kind of ruins the benefits and fun for others who enjoy it.
Guys why dont we all do this. We have people who want too Turn off Weather, and people who want weather turned on, and other who just follow their friends. So Lets put it this way, there's a road, one side is Weather on and one Side weather off, why go to the side when you have a striaght path? Here's what I say... Keep weather on BUT! Keep it too a 1 min or so duration or cut it in half, that way we have both partys happy, and people who hate the Weather, can go offline if they wish, or a short time, then come back on. This way I HOPE everyone is happy. Sorry if it was a strange way of putting it. xD
I agree with jets, I'm sure the problem for some people concerning weather is that it's too long. A shortened weather cycle should be enough to make it tolerable for those who are bothered by the length and keep weather for those who want it.
I wonder if it'd be possible for andrewkm to save up excess money he gets from the server over a month or so, then pay one of his developers or a new one to create a plugin that fixes every-ones issues with the weather. Just a thought. Also your all saying there "is" an issue with weather at the moment, whether its' the length of time its active or its lag or whatever your reason. Until this issue is resolved or fixed weather should be disabled. Pistons have issues that all players can see so they've been disabled, weather is no different so it should be disabled till a fix happens, weather is a nuisance to some of the community if you agree or not, its proven that some of the community don't like it. So its driving people away from the server (if only for five minutes its still five minutes.. ) Also if you don't have an issue at all with the rain in-particular please go to the wild wait for it to rain and sit through its cycle then I'm almost certain your opinion will be altered ever so slightly. Most of you spend your time In-doors and don't even notice the weather so its not a major part of your gaming experience.
We could always get @ pweather [Sunny] [Rain] [Snow] It would all drop the same, but you would not see the flakes droping, they would just "Grow" per sey on the ground. But if you turned on Snow nothing would go on the ground until the legit snow fall comes. But then those who hate the Weather can toggle it off.
