Fell into chasm while making way out of spawn area. At the bottom found the chasm cut though a dungeon with a spider spawner. Discovered as you cant go below 1 heart in the protected area, I could bash and kill spiders & collect items for as long as I wanted. And of course /sell to put in booklet. Did this for a few minutes before I realized what was actually happening. With booklet coming out, and the various themes, especially if a monster hunter was implemented, this could be a potential exploit.
You are meant to be invincible in the immediate region around the spawnpoint. If this was a monster themed VMR week, then good for you for such a find!
I thought you are unable to hit mobs within the protected 1000x1000 spawn area (potentially for that reason)?
Can't a flag be set to prevent users from hitting mobs within the spawn region of vmr? I think this is what 314 said, not sure
Almost - I was actually saying "I believed this flag was already set". Could be, I haven't had the time to test it.
*Generates time for 314* And if it only applies to passive mobs then this really could be a potential exploit.
Can you please find the correct flags I need to set this, I'm swamped at this time and don't exactly know what the flags/issues are here. Skimming through the thread I'm assuming you cannot hit passive mobs, but can hit hostile mobs, while invincible.
I checked the documentation... the only flag that matches is "damage-animals", which is described as "Whether players can harm friendly animals (cows, sheep, etc)". Apparently it is impossible to make hostile mobs invincible, probably to prevent a situation where a vulnerable player meets unkillable mobs. I guess the easiest way would be to set the "mob-spawning" flag to false in the spawn area, therefore making all spawners in the protected zone useless (albeit at the cost of removing peaceful animals, unless "deny-spawn" is used for explicit blacklisting).
