    This message of mine will probably get deleted, but as someone who witnessed this event past this single, untimestamped screenshot, I want to add extra context that both players kept egging on each other during and after an SG match, just like the last complaint. I don't remember who specifically started it, but they kept going at each other, even after I suggested that they just use /ignore on each other as Oly suggested in the last complaint

    My fault, here

    Pretty disappointing the amount of leash TM_i is given on a daily. I know damn well that if myself, capbo or matrix said anything like this we would be warned/muted immediately. Why is he allowed to say this but we are not?

    Especially considering the warn @matrix_rep recently got with the most absurd complaint I've seen in my 12 years on this server. Is this really acceptable?

    You must not have been there, but the 'directed language' rule is being loosened. Which was discussed after the complaint you linked. Also, you started it m8. Grow up.

    @Drewbo_

    Thank you for filing this complaint. It's understood your grievance is directed towards @TM_iBeast in this complaint. That being said, any complaints regarding how staff should have handled / do handle certain situations really don't need to be directed in a complaint against another user, as it's quite irrelevant to the purpose of the thread. For that, we continue to have staff feedback / staff complaint forms, as has been the norm for quite some years now. Here is the link to open one if you would wish to.

    Though the provided evidence is plenty, as has been mentioned in multiple previous complaints, we look at situations in not just one screenshot, but rather we take note of the context in which the complaint arose. In the context of the situation, staff took note of the escalating banter. We as not only a staff team, but also as administrative body, agree that this is nothing more than banter between two individuals. As in a previous complaint that had filed, considering the context in which this situation happened, this complaint easily could have been avoided by following at least one of the three bullet points written out by staff member @OlympiansAreGods. Your complaint(s) seem directed towards only one user when they could be applied to more than one; continuing to file complaint after complaint without acknowledging or respecting what staff has to say is a demerit to the complaint system, and frankly demeaning to the other user.

    The next point I would like to make is that survival games at the moment is an entirely temporary gamemode. Noticing the amount of issues and complaints arising from having the gamemode around for only a couple of hours of the day, there seems to be no reason to keep the gamemode around. Users becoming riled up and upset is the exact opposite of what we like to encourage here on ECC.

    I would like you to know that I have spoken to @TM_iBeast personally and asked them to acknowledge that some messages they may have sent in an attempt to "banter" may have been interpreted in a different way. Banter is fine, but taking banter too far is not. Maybe the limit may seem arbitrary, but understanding that messages intended one way might just be taken a different way. Dismissing this complaint does not mean staff "favor" one user or another; it simply means that there is not enough evidence and context to give a fair punishment.

    To sum up:
    • Complaints regarding how staff handle situations need their own form.
    • Though the screenshot might show a message that was not the nicest, in the context of the situation, it wasn't all that extraordinary or warranting a complaint.
    • Understand that our complaint system is for legitimate violations of the rules, and not ones for "gotcha!" moments. It is also not a way to launch personal nor group vendettas towards another user.
    • Banter is fine, but taking banter too far is not.
    • The way banter is interpreted may vary from user to user; for this reason I ask that @TM_iBeast and everyone acknowledge that what they say can take different meanings.
    • Should you have a gripe with any user, if a quick "stop" or "hey, could you not do that" really doesn't ease the situation, there are always alternatives such as /ignore, disengaging with / moving on from the situation, or logging out.
    Should you have any other questions, they may be directed here.
