Hey everyone, I just reached a milestone the other day... 2 years of ECC (I joined April 19, got my account the 20th). I'm not usually a big fan of these, but I figured I'd do one... I know I'm not very active anymore, but I still enjoy the community here. Regarding my story to Residency, I actually have the whole story written out on an old post of Lilypetal's, where users share their beginning ECC experience, then I'll just add onto it :) ... So here is my story!

How it started:
One day, on a class trip on June 3rd, 2011, I was being stupid and broke BOTH of my wrists. :/ About 2-3 weeks later, at home, with a splint on my right fore arm and a large cast on my left arm, I was playing on my computer, or at least trying to. A friend came over, and told me about this fun game called 'Minecraft'. When I first played it, I wasn't too interested in it, and as the time went on, I stopped playing it altogether. Even though I was a fan of the Yogscast's series Shadow of Israphel, I still didn't really care about playing Minecraft.

Then around November I decided to try out minecraft classic. I made some really cool stuff, including a large castle built on a hill (Yes, this is possible to build something very big in classic). I tried to save it, but it said I needed an account. I didn't want to bother with that then, so I just kept on building cool things in classic, and leaving them. I finally decided I wanted to save my stuff, so I made an account, BubblezBoy98. Then regular classic got boring, so I decided to step it up a notch and play multiplayer.

On the very first server I played on, I had no clue what I was doing. I went to random worlds and started breaking blocks, trying to 'troll' people. Since I was new to multiplayer, I had no clue it was a bad thing to do. Finally, getting bored of playing on different servers everytime, I decided to settle on a little server, server1 (That's not the names, I'm just using that in place of the real server name). Here, I made a few friends, got to a high rank, then the server closed. A few days before it's death, this guy came on and he told me about another server called server2. Interested, I tried it out. Turns out that guy was an admin, and he instantly ranked me up a few ranks. Then a friend from server1 came on and recognized me. He was an admin on this server as well as on server1. I thought this was kinda cool, and we got along well. With the help from some admins on the server, I was able to have a few of my own worlds named after me. I had a blast there, making a car shop, a hotel, a huge pool to bedrock, a giant spleef arena, and a few more things.

Then one Christmas break, my cousin, slimypeople48, came over to my house. I was showing him of this awesome game, and how he should get it. He agreed, and I made him an account with the name of slimypeople48. We both played around on server2, making houses and statues. Then one day I noticed he hasn't been online lately. Wondering, I talked to him one day, and he had said he had bought the full version of Minecraft. I was really jealous, as the full version looked awesome. Then I thought of something. I could just use his account and play singleplayer. Excitedly, I did this. 'Error report: bad video card drivers'... I hate old PCs. This put a big dampening on everything. Then I remembered my brother also had a computer, and I tried it out on that. Much to my surprise, it worked. Whenever he was gone, I was on it, playing on a server I had found. The odd time, slimy'd allow me to go on EcoCityCraft and look around, not usually for a long time. Most of the time, I'd be on the server that I'd found.

After a while, I was really wanting to get my own account, but thought it to be worthless as I couldn't play the full version on my PC anyway. Finally one night, I looked around YouTube, trying to find a solution to 'Bad Video Card Drivers'. Happily, I found one. Quickly I tried it out, signed onto slimys account, and tried it. It worked!! Now I was really happy, texting slimy about it and how all I needed now was an account. As I have parents who don't really like buying things off of the internet, I got slimy to buy it for me, then I'd pay him the $27.99 next time I saw him. As I didn't really like the name 'BubblezBoy98', I decided to make a new account and make that account the full version. I thought for a while, then remembered that my YouTube name was MrBubblez98, so why not make my account name MrBubblez98. I did this, and bought it. Within an hour or two, I was playing Minecraft. Literally the first thing I did when I opened up minecraft in browser, was go to the servers and add mc.ecocitycraft.com, and connect.

When I first got on, I had no clue what I was doing. This was still when there was the original spawn tower. Then I looked at my chat, and noticed I had a PM from slimy, telling me to accept the teleport from @boston81. Quickly I did, and ended up in a barren town of LoonyVille, with just a few chests in the corner. Slimy gave me full iron armor and some tools, and told me to go mining and find clay for bricks. Happily I did this. Later on, I had to help clear his town of trees. After this was all done, I had lots of wood, and asked to build a house. He didn't mind, as long as I didn't let anyone else live in his town. Happy, I built a house, which, to this day, still stands in LoonyVille. I was pretty happy with this, and then slimy gave me a present: full diamond armor. Back then, diamonds were still worth about $95-110 each, so it was quite nice to have that.

After a long time, I really started to save my money and save up for Resident. One night, I was still only at $5,###. Slimy made an agreement with me, that he'd pay me the $15,000 required for Resident, but then I'd owe him. I took this offer right away, and applied for Resident at about 10:00 PM. The next day when I got on after school, I was a Resident.


And that's my story of how I became acquainted with Minecraft, to my Residency.

That's where my story ended. So I'll pick up from there :) It may not be too accurate, as this was 1.5-2 years ago, where this started.

Spoiler: To where I am now

As the time of my Residency went on, I didn't anything that was very exciting. I played, bought stuff, sold stuff, and did what everyone else was doing. Finally I realized I needed to start saving for Mayor, because I really wanted my own town. I started saving up and I can barely remember selling a lot of diamond blocks to a user we (older users will remember) know, and possibly love, nradke22 . This was when diamonds for $80 was considered cheap, so I made most of my money from there. At that time, I was only ~15k away from the 85k requirement. I forget how, but I found a user you guys know as Craftychips who was willing to give me the money, for something in return which I forget. I took this offer, as I remember it being easy to do. I got the money, and applied for Mayor. On August 9, 2012, I put in my app for Mayor, and named it after my IRL hometown, Norwich.

I worked on my town for a while, then I saw an old user (which I will not name, but you probably know who it is) posting a thread on the forums about building two large buildings called the Twin Towers. I thought it'd be cool, and told this user that he can build them in my town. Planning went on, and soon they were being built up. Me and this user didn't get along very well, so a few problems came up between us. Then one day, this user was banned (that's why I'm not saying his name). I forget exactly what happened after that, but I kept on building the towers and selling floors as I went.

Time went on, and it was in January / February, 2013, and a user that everyone knows, by the name of @Shotgunboy0130 joined, and to respect his personal life, I won't say why, and started helping with the towers. We became good friends, and worked on the towers together for some time.

I was at spawn one day, talking on Skype with @frenchhornplayer, and a few other users, one which is now banned, and we were all having fun, talking, and playing lotto. One of the guys I was with (now banned) was a huge lotto addict. He had just won some money, and being the noob I was, I asked him for some money. He then sent me 7k. First thing I did, as we were all playing lotto, was put it into the lotto.

Wow.. I had just won 403k with 7 tickets... I was ****ing my pants. This was insane for me. I was rich... I actually had money! I waited until the next lotto, and this time only put 5k in. Guess what? Another 250k for me! I was going crazy. At that point, I had 653k, and I earned it with 12k...

I forget what had all happened after that, but me and Shotgunboy still got along quite well. I made a deal with him that I would buy him Mayor, in return for a mansion and the towers complete. My only regret is I made it over Skype, and no evidence (I don't really care anymore, Shotgun :b).

The two of us built a town right beside each others, and had plans to make it a massive, expensive, but good-looking town. We were going alright, and the town was starting to look quite good. Then things went downhill. We didn't get along very well anymore, and argued quite a bit. He ended up selling both of our towns to a user, but that worked out alright, and I got it back. In the end he sold his town, but I kept mine.

Starting to get bored with ECC at that point (roughly June 2013), I started a new project: a 200x200 farm at Y level 5. I enjoyed working on this, and I was finding a lot of ores, but progress was slow. From here, my ECC life slowed down a lot. I was barely on, and I was getting bored with the server.

I was introduced to another server (not giving details) and I had some more fun there, so that's where I left to. But I still had a lot of stuff here, so I gave literally everything away to my best friend on the server, @rosypolly. I gave him my towns, my items and my money. Literally, I have $0 to my name in ECC, in the forum of money and items. One time when I was on here for a bit, I had a small amount of money. I put it into lotto. http://imgur.com/a/ZizAH#0 I had fun that night, gaining about 273k I believe :p But seeing as I rarely played on the server, I gave that away also, to rosypolly.

This was the last memorable event I have on ECC sadly, as this happened August 9th, 2013, according to screenshot's name. Since then I've been off and on, usually only there for SG if I'm ever bored. I remember a while ago I tried to start fresh; I got rid of everything, used /kit starter, went to the mining world, and mined. I worked up enough money to buy an apartment from @Mrs_Bornswavia, which I believe I still have (you can get rid of it, if you like). I tried to get back into ECC, but couldn't. I just didn't find it fun anymore (Sorry, andrewkm :(). Every now and then, I'll come on and see what's up, but that's about it..

@slimypeople48 - (you'll probably never see this, but whatever.. )You... You introduced me to ECC... You were my source for everything back in the ol' days... I owe everything I know, and owned, to you. You showed me the ropes and helped me with many things. Sad to say you've quit ECC, and vanilla Minecraft to play mod packs... usuk

@rosypolly - My best friend on the server... We always got along :) Too bad I never did anything really memorable with you :( But anyway, my time on here was fun, and you made it all the more better.

@boston81 - First person I met, other than slimy. We were great friends, and you were always there when I needed a TP :b. Too bad I don't see you very often anymore tho...

@Shotgunboy0130 - We got along very well, and I really liked you. Even tho we don't talk anymore, it was fun working on the dual-town setup we had :p
