    Hi all,

I've personally noticed that many players are often confused or outright ignorant about our various rules related to the ownership of towns of towns and the transfer thereof. This news post intends to help clarify this today whilst informing you of recent rule changes made in this regard to that will help clarify these rules further.

I'll start with the bottom line here: If you did not apply for a town on your own and instead bought it from or were given it by another user and have not successfully filed a town transfer or town claim for it, your "ownership" of said town is absolutely meaningless: You have no right to file any applications for it. Any agreement that says the official/original owner must file town feature applications on your behalf is no longer enforced. You have no inherent right to even keep the town - If a successful town transfer or claim application is not filed within 5 days of being given the town, your town can be seized right back from you by the previous owner with no compensation provided. Any agreement that says the original owner cannot reclaim a town from you is not enforced either.

With regards to the previous owner reclaiming "your" town, here are the updated rules as follows:
"If you recieve another user’s town without a Town Claim or Town Transfer, be wary that the Official Owner may contact a GameAdmin+ after 5 days of you recieving the town to have the town returned to them."

TL;DR - If you are not the official owner of your town, you cannot apply for town features for it and may not even be an owner of the town tomorrow.

The prospect of having their own towns seized from right under them will come at a shock to many, so there will be a 1 week moratorium on town reclaims for people to get their towns transferred over to them. After the 1 week grace period is over, anyone who "owns" a town that hasn't been transferred in their name is running the risk of losing it.

Make sure to transfer all towns you have obtained from others within a week of this post to keep them from being reclaimed!

UPDATE: 1 WEEK GRACE PERIOD EXTENDED BY 3 DAYS FROM THIS POST

Further revisions to Town Transfer rules have been made as follows:
      • Any agreements to sell or give ownership of a town are now acceptable evidence of a Town Transfer, even without any explicit mention of a "transfer" or "claim".
      • Ingame agreements are now accepted as valid evidence in Town Transfer applications, alongside contracts.
This immensely broadens the amount of towns eligible to transferred. Make sure to transfer them before they get reclaimed, it's your last chance!
