Day 5: Spawnshop update: I got my spawnshop, Station 14! Most of the money I make is going to be fed into stocking my shop now. I won't be able to start until late tonight or tomorrow, though. Re-hash of my tools situation: Eff5 Unb3 Fort3 pickaxe Eff5 Unb3 shovel Everything else: unenchanted Tools goal: everything maxed out (non star tools though). Sent from my LG-VM701 using Tapatalk 2
Day 8: I took a 200K loan so that I could stock my spawnshop immediately. I am planning to sell as many blocks as possible, so this is a pretty big project and it is taking me multiple days just to buy the product and put it into trade signs. I have already made a few sales and the shop isn't halfway done yet. Once the blocks are fully stocked, I will need enough money to set up signs buying exp, nstars and diamonds. I owe 230K on the loan two weeks from yesterday. Go, spawnshop, go!
Day 11: Phase One of my spawnshop plan is done, and further expansion is on hold until my debt is paid off. I have a lot of blocks decently stocked, and a little bit of money in the exp/nstar/diamond buying signs. I have gone back to mining again. The point of a spawnshop is not that it makes high $$/hour, it doesn't. Its purpose is to do work for you while you are doing other things. For example, I can go mining and it will still be there working for me. It continues working for me even when i'm offline. Anyway, I have 50K that is readily available and am working towards 230K. 9 days left.
Day 14: I have one week left to pay off 230k, but I am on vacation for most of the week. We drove the family 8 hours so that my son could meet his grandparents, great-grandmother, aunties and nieces (my side of the family). He is named after my late grandfather, so my grandmother is very emotional about my little baby boy. She gave him a US Navy teddy bear that belonged to my grandpa. I am very dependent on the spawnshop this week, because my playing time may be limited while on vacation. I am trying to get comfortable with the exp and nstar markets, but have had some minor missteps like buying nstars for too much money initially. I ran out of buying money a few times and am up to over 100 nstars in stock. I estimate that I could liquidate 80-100k fairly easily at this time, so I'm still making progress. it is probably cheaper to just buy it from someone else. however, if you get scammed, it is particularly devastating to lose that money because then you are back at square one: unenchanted tools and no money. The safe path is to bypass other users and enchant it using the signs at spawn.
Day 18: I have found time to mine while on vacation. My parents have watched baby quite a bit so I've had free time and have caught up on sleep. I did an evaluation of my assets: Balance: $266.87 Trade sign money: $18442.00 Exp: 14953 Nstars: 230 Diamonds: 544 Converted to ECD: $169,331.07 Progress is a bit slower than I expected because I have used some of the money to re-fill my block signs in my shop when things run out. I owe 230k on Saturday.
Day 22: Yesterday, I managed to pay off my loan! I borrowed 200k and paid back 230k. Loans are a tricky thing and can get you into a lot of trouble on ECC, but they do have places where they are very useful. Only take a loan if you are using it on something that will help you make the money back. In my case, the money was used to fill my shop with blocks to sell. As the blocks sold, they helped me make back that 30k fee and then some. It turned out to be a win-win for me and for the player who loaned me the money. I still had to go mining and awful lot, because my shop didn't make anywhere near 230k by itself. I was sick of it by the end of the loan, so to close the final gap, I sold my max silk shovel for 20k and put all my nstars/exp/diamonds slightly on sale. I also, shut down my buying signs for a couple days until I could pay the loan off. Anyway, I have very little liquid income once again. However, I have a spawnshop that is up and running and I still have a max fortune pickaxe to go mining for extra money. My goals look like this now: -Make 20k to pay rent on the shop -Get a max set of gear and tools -Expand my shop by adding mining goods and any blocks that I missed the first time around. New Section: Baby stuff Yes, he is two months old now and he just got his 2nd round of vaccines. It was so hard hearing him cry so loud. He got the shots in his thighs and he was sore and crying for about 24 hours.
